Great way to beat the heat

I love this product! I have a medium size apartment with a small\medium size bedroom, and this can keep it cool and comfortable. If it gets over 100 degrees it gets less effective, but if I close all the doors (bed\bathroom, ect.) it still gets it down to the mid 70's. And on a hot day that feels awsome. I would recommend this product to anyone with a small\medium size space that they want to cool to a comfortable temp. I think the noise level is acceptable and the size is good. The only drawback is that it isn't that quick to move from room to room because it needs to vent out a window. Other than that it is great. It keeps the temp at a level where I can comfortably stay indoors on a 100 degree day.

This 9,000 BTU Commercial Cool by Haier Portable Air Conditioner Keep cool in any part of the home with this portable 9,000 BTU air conditioner. The auto-evaporation function allows continuous operation without water removal, eliminating the inconvenience of emptying the water tank. 6 cooling speeds let you choose your cool and keep comfortable all summer long. Most of that is true however it seemed not to come in the original packaging and was missing the 4 VIP screws that attach the unit to the window. The slat that comes with it will not fully fit most sliding windows but you can make do with a pice of cardboad. I have a small room about 200sqf this unit will cool it from 85' down to 73' in about 55 min. In this small room its a bit loud so turn up the TV this unit costs apx $500 but at Walmart they sold it for $315 So all in all a good value...

One Problem

Air conditioner works great. One problem the remote goes through batteries. I get one or two uses out of a set of batteries then they are dead. The only manual controls are an on off switch so you really need the remote. I contacted Haier but have not received any response from them.

The product itself works great. The only thing I don't like is you have to use the remote for everything, and for some reason the batteries don't last. I have tried brand new batteries, also I have rechargeable batteries. I have to charge them every night so I can use the remote the next day.

I shopped around for portable air conditioners for quite some time and decided on this one. Overall I am not that happy with my purchase. The packaging on this product isn't great and when I finally got it home one of the wheels had been crushed. Since it's an extremely heavy item I didn't want to take it back to the store which I probably should have done. I kept it but it's hard to roll the air conditioner to another room when one of the wheels is broken. It's also much louder than I thought it would be. It does cool down the room but I have to turn up to volume on my tv or stereo to hear above the roar of the air conditioner. I have never seen one of these before so I didn't realize they are so loud.

I bought this AC for a studio in Washington, DC. I held onto it for about 2 weeks before returning it. When temperatures sored into the 90's the coolest my apartment got was 79 degrees. Most of the time I had to deal with 82 to 83 degrees. This unit is just not very good.

Looks like a got a floor model

I have had the product for 2 weeks but have not been able to use it because parts were missing and broken. As per the manufacturer's instructions, I contacted them instead of taking the product back to Walmart. I had to send my proof of purchase to them before they would send the parts. Then I have to wait for them to verify before they send the part. Hope I get them before the really hot weather comes. The bottom of the box was completely cut out, the styrofoam packaging was all broken up, the whole box was held together with strapping and them covered in bubble wrap before being put in a shipping carton. Makes me wonder if I got a floor model that had been returned because of the broken and missing parts. Next time I get something from Walmart.com, I will return it to the store rather than contacting the manufacturer. Maybe I will get a little faster response!

I purchased this A.C. for a room that had a 4500 BTU widow unit but my H O A made me remove it so I figured with a 9000 BTU unit it would freeze us out . It would not cool much at all had warnity come out and was told these are not as good as window units they do not blow as hard we need a bigger unit. So I returned it to the store.

JUNK

We bought this hoping to find the perfect alternative to putting an air conditioner in the bedroom window. Well, we were so wrong. You have to vent this thing out the windown anyway so we're covering the window with the insert and vent hose. This thing is so loud you could not sleep in the same rroom and generates sooooo much heat that the room cools very little. The hose is bulky and the unit is very hard to move around. This is now a dust collector in our basement and we're back to using our old window air conditioner. Don't buy this unless you're going to use it in your garage or place you don't have to be in.

poor design, defective remote

This product comes with a defective remote. It only work when new batteries were inserted - and for only 5 minutes. The problem with the design is that there is only a on/off switch on the product. All mode selection are changed by the remote. I was very disappointed with the customer support of Haier who had me go out and purchase additional batteries. When this didn't resolve the issue, I had to call back and their response was mail a copy of my invoice which I bought the night before. I was told that it would take 4-9 business day for them to process mail. They did not say that this would resolve my problem. I did ask them if a defective remote control was a "known" issue with this model. I was told that they didn't have to answer that. The only positive note was the friendly support team at Walmart. I was allow to return this Air conditioner which would turn on in fan mode only. If Haier had design this model to allow the user to manually select mode and settings there would have been a different outcome...but they didn't.
