The unit is extremely quiet and cools well.
We bought this unit primarily because it fit in our small nyc apt window but were extremely surprised by how well the unit works - even as temps were in the 90's. We never even had to run it at its coolest setting. The best feature is that it is ultra quiet as advertised. It did not interfere with our tv watching in that room which was a plus. In fact I am writing this review and back on the sight because I plan on purchasing another one for our bedroom. The price is a bit steep but it is worth it.
I own a side by side duplex. The main floor on each side is 1500 square feet. Here in North Dakota we are just getting done with a heat streak of 5 days ranging from 102 -106 with the humidity of 65 - 70 percent. My renters used this air conditioner with a fan to keep the air moving through the rooms and they say that it is keeping up fairly well. Granted it is a 10,000 btu air conditioner with the fans and running all day long, it kept the house to around 78 Degrees. Considering the air conditioner is rated for a room of around half that area, I am impressed. When it arived and we installed it, the motor had been shifted back so that the fan would rub against the coils. I would guess durring shipping it had been dropped it on it's back and the weight bent the copper coils. I was able to bend the motor mount back and the unit has worked great since then. I have had this for 1 month.
