Detailed product description

If you have a project where staples will work better than nails or screws for attaching material to a wooden surface, HART’s Stapler Hammer Tacker can make quick work of the job. Plus, the tool gives you a foot and a half of extra reach (helpful depending on what you’re working on). Use this stapler hammer tacker much in the way you would a regular hammer. We especially think you’ll like the bottom load magazine. It makes reloading faster and prevents the inconvenience of staple jams, so you can get back to work more quickly. Apart from that, this tool features an over-molded handle with a more comfortable, non-slip grip. A big plus when your hands get sweaty. Overall, it’s a great product to have in your toolbox.

Made of metal Durable tool that's easy to use Won’t break if dropped Great for many purposes such as installing roofing paper, carpet backing or even insultation You can load it with 5/16”, 3/8” & ½” staples

Great staple gun

Very easy to use and a good quality staple gun. I've used this sucker for so many things. I love that it's not so heavy and bulky. Perfect for everyday use! I'm renovating our motor home and this has been a blessing for reupholstering! The best thing about this is the way you can hold it. It's powerful enough to where you don't have to force the staples out.

HART hammer stapler has some added features

Reviewed in the USA on 2021-03-20T17:00:00

This HART Stapler Hammer Tacker is well-made and comfortable to use. It accepts multiple sizes of staples between ¼ inch and ½ inch. The all-metal construction makes it suitable for using on commercial construction sites for installing insulation and carpet padding but we also use it around the house for repairs on fencing, chicken coops, and replacing tar paper on out-buildings. It does take a lot of force to completely drive ½” staples into wood but this Hart stapler performed equally well to another name brand hammer stapler in terms of depth of insertion. Not a single jam occurred with this HART stapler after driving several hundred staples on a jobsite in a day. The stapler is very easy to load and has a viewing window to indicate the number of staples remaining. One of the best features of this hammer stapler is that the piece you pull back to load the stapler is firmly attached to the tool so it can't go flying out the back of the stapler and the staples won't fall out if it doesn't get securely latched by chance. Overall, this hammer stapler is comfortable to use, easy to load, accepts multiple sizes of staples, and the construction is strong enough for both residential and commercial use.

Good Hammer Tacker for DIY Projects

This hammer tacker is very well made. It takes wrist action and some practice to get the staples in correctly, but once you get the hang of it, works well. It takes 4 different sizes of staples, 1/4", 5/16", 3/8" & 1/2", and is easy to load. The whole tool is about 12" long and can be used for a variety of projects. I used it to tack material onto wood for a window seat my husband made. I like it over the 'squeeze trigger' staplers as I have arthritis and this is much easier to use.

Perfect Timing

This HART Staple Hammer Tacker couldn't have come at a better time. I recently purchased a fixer-upper and knew it would come in handy for unruly carpet padding and carpet edges as well as for re-installing certain areas of insulation. It's sturdy, lightweight, and has a good grip. It works great. I even had the professional carpet installer give it a try and he agreed it worked really well. I think it will work great for stapling carpet strips to some garage steps as well.

Well built stapler

I used this to staple a Beware of Dog sign on my wooden gate - it worked well - you can swing it like a hammer to drive the staple in. It is mostly metal so I think it will last. Also, it takes different size staples which is nice - any size from 1/4 inch to 1/2 inch - see images.

This hammer tacker it's a nice solid tool. Has a nice grip. Not sure what the retail price is for this decker hammer. I looked up others similarAnd saw prices for anywhere from $25-$45. This is a rugged tool that makes jobs much easier. It's better quality than other Tackers I've seen. It does not come with staples. I would recommend this tool

Bit of a hassle

I received my tacker and was quite irritated that there were no instructions included. We had to go online and watch several videos of similar products to see why we couldn't get it to staple. Through several minutes of tinkering we were able to release the back loading mechanism using a press release underneath. Surprisingly, it didn't come preloaded with any staples and even though it states it accepts several sizes we were only able to get the 1/2" staples to work. When we finally used it, we couldn't get the staples to sink down completely no matter how much force was used. There may/ may not be a way to adjust the spring but again without directions there was no way to know. We were able to fix this issue by just spraying the spring with WD-40. Regardless I think this is great, heavy duty tool for professional use like laying roof felt, carpet or upholstering, not necessarily for everyday DIY projects. Plus, without much needed directions or even preloaded staples I can't say it would recommend it.

Not so good for a beginner

Feels sturdy and well made. Finding properly fitting staples was easy. Loading the staples was easy. Closing the unit after loading the staples, not so easy. I've not had success in getting it to work properly. I had high hopes for this tool and several DIY projects lined up for its use. I'm not super happy with this product. I'll remain patient and hopefully a novice like me can get it to work.

The handle has a nice grip, easy to hold although heavy. Loading wasn't an issue for me, it says it takes 4 size staples only the 1/2 " worked for me. I hit my knuckles on several occasions I had to slam the hammer to sink the staple, at times it didn't penatrate the carpet or wood post. Slamming doesn't make it easy to complete any task with this hammer, perhaps I was handling it wrong but it doesn't come with instructions. I wanted to recommend this hammer however, my knuckles and wrist hurt.
