I bought this a couple of weeks ago and loves it!! It’s the third one that I’ve purchased. I created a “serenity room” at work for my staff and purchased one for the room and my staff loves it. My brother was out of work due to his illness and I purchased one for him. I recently purchased another model wasn’t too pleased with it because you needed to be taller.... so here I am again back to my original purchase!! I love this massage!!
I fell in love with this the moment I used it. After being on my feet all day from a hectic work schedule, this is definitely the remedy I needed to relieve my back and neck pain. I feel 30 years younger. I suffered a car accident a couple years ago and although I have fully recovered I do experience aches and pains , in just a few minutes this heated massage cushion loosens up tense, achy muscles, completely eliminating my aches and pains. Now I wake up every day free of pain. The massage rollers are very intense so if you are sensitive you may have to put a towel or such between you and the massage roller. I am not tall enough to fit so I put a pillow on the seat and that raised me up perfectly for the neck massage. If you fall asleep no worries I will shut off automatically in 15 minutes. I put it on the couch and in a chair and it still preformed perfectly. This is a true Shiatsu massage and can feel aggressive if you are not used to it. It only has one setting for speed. It is very powerful and the neck part is amazing! Full - fully massages your back up and down. Very aggressive and wonderful Upper - massages upper part of your back up and down. Neck Kneading – has a height adjustment for neck and shoulders Lower - massages lower part of your back up and down. Massages very low back Heater- Is in the lower portion I love it and definitely recommend to those who like a deep tissue massage; this is NOT for the person who wants a Swedish massage.
This Homedics Shiastu massage chair really surprised me. I actually felt like I was sitting in one of those day spas getting a pedicure and sitting at a nail salon. This massage chair helped my back and shoulders release some tension. This neck massager has an adjustable height on the remote controller which is wonderful because I am five foot tall and I thought the height was going to be an issue but it was not. The heat helps sooth away sore muscles and makes what feels like a deep tissue massage more relaxing. You can literally get an entire back massage in a fifteen minute incremental massage. After I used it, I did notice my muscles a little sore but that is because those muscles have not been massaged in so long and they became sore but after another use the soreness went away for me. This massage chair has Velcro straps to strap onto a chair to help make it stationary. I placed mine on my recliner chair in my living room and I did not use the straps which were not long enough to wrap around my chair. The straps are intended for a regular chair, office or kitchen type. The remote has settings and options so you can focuse on upper back, lower back, full back, neck and you can use the heat or not if you choose. I really enjoyed this massage chair and I would definitely recommend this to anyone.
After using this complimentary product for over a week I am now 'hooked' into a everyday regimen of daily massage. Beforehand, I only thought of using a massage cushion to relieve sore muscles from overdoing it in the yard, garden, or other kinds of strenuous (honey-do) household chores. What a surprise to find that daily invigorating massage relieves not only minor muscle aches and pains, but eases everyday tension and occasional headaches. It reduces my stress, improves my blood circulation, increases my joint flexibility, and best of all, daily massage routine enhances my overall mood giving me a bang-up feeling of soothing relaxation. WooHoo! This HoMedics Shiatsu Elite Massage Cushion, MCS-840H, with Heat is phenomenal. It allows me to massage my back, shoulders, and neck with their uniquely designed, 'Perfect Fit' technology. By using the wired and attached remote I can set the upper limits of my massage to the height of my back, shoulders, and, or neck. Very few massage cushions offer shoulder and neck massage in addition to back like this unit does. The massage mechanism goes up your back to the limits you set and then reverses its rotation and goes back down for a real effective Shiatsu massage. The remote is very simple and easy to operate. The selection options, touch icons, all glow a bluish LED when activated. There is a handy built-in pocket on the right hand side of the cushion seat for storage of the remote. The massage cushion must be firmly attached to your chair to operate correctly. The unit has four straps, two upper and two lower with Velcro to securely fasten the cushion to your favorite chair. You only need to use any two of these straps to tie the cushion firmly. It is important that this massage cushion is firmly attached and does NOT slide or move in order to give you the full effects and benefits of a great massage. The attached two-prong electrical plug is 'polarized' and will fit into any three-prong electrical outlet. The included Instruction Manual warns against covering the unit with blankets, covers, etc., especially around the air openings, which allows excess heat to escape from the unit operations. This particular unit only has one speed, and at first I thought it was too intense. So, I used a towel initially to dull the profound strength. But after several days of use my body adjusted to the magnitude of the intensiveness. Be aware that this unit is primarily designed for a powerful and invigorating massage. It only has one speed. It may take you a little time to get used to its strength, but, the physical 'learning curve' is well worth the practice. It features three zones for lower, upper, and full back. It has a height adjustment to reach your shoulders and separate control for your neck. What is nice about this model is that it allows me to adjust it for my height, and my significant other can adjust it for her particular range also. The massage roller apparatus glows red from LEDs when the heat is activated. Overall the unit is constructed of good quality with PVC and one hundred percent polyester. It is cleanable, using a damp cloth, but cannot be immersed in water. After a brief 'break-in' period of three days, I physically adjusted to the massage pressure without a towel. YooHoo! Since I have arthritis I found using this unit early in the morning for fifteen minutes while listening to the morning news is very rejuvenating. And, again, for another fifteen minutes early in the evening for soothing relaxation. This unit has helped ease my arthritis aches, pains, and stiffness. It has enabled me to sleep better later on after my evening massage. Additionally it helps to clear my mind because I feel so good after fifteen minutes of Shiatsu 'finger pressure' stimulation emulated by this HoMedics Elite Massage Cushion. I highly recommend this cushion for folks, who want a thorough, exhilarating, and soothing, massage experience. Whether you use this daily or just several times a week, you will be invigorated and able to enjoy the numerous health benefits of massage therapy.
I’m not sure if you really want to read through my review, you might just want to click ‘add to cart’ now because this thing is amazing! I actually get goose-bumps using it and I am using it now while I write this review! I have had quite a few professional massages in my life and this is actually JUST like getting a real professional massage. This chair (I’ll call it that, and explain later) is the best of any massage products I’ve ever had. I was shocked the day it arrived as it came in a very nice, HUGE box with a handle. Most of these massagers come folded up in a small box, not this one! It actually looks like a car seat so it fit perfectly in my reclining office chair. It has a strap to securely strap it down to your chair. The plug length is decent; luckily for me the chair is right next to an outlet so that wasn’t a problem. I was very excited to try out my chair as I had been involved in a hit and run that damaged my back and neck and now I suffer with back/neck pain. As soon as turned on the power button on the attached remote control I was in love! I especially enjoy the heat. I use the heat, neck massage and full back and sit back and it is really amazing. You will not be disappointed in this chair!
The HoMedics Shiatsu Elite Massage Cushion with Heat is as close to a professional massage at home as you can get. My husband and I both thoroughly enjoy this massage cushion. It is very easy to adjust to what you personally need. The neck massage feels wonderful. I LOVE it. You can change the direction of the massage mechanisms from clockwise to counter-clockwise with just a touch of the button. The massage mechanisms that travel up and down your back and can be adjusted to work specific areas. For the upper back, it focuses from mid to upper back. For the lower back, it focuses from mid to lower back. For the full back, it travels up and down the complete length of the back. Don't forget the heat setting. This really helps sore muscles. Each setting, when pressed, is illuminated with L.E.D. lighting. It has a built-in timer that automatically cuts off after 15 minutes, for safety. This is a very nice massage cushion. It is well constructed and gives a good massage. I have the good fortune of getting a professional massage once a month. This massage cushion is perfect for a good, convenient massage in between appointments.
The HoMedics Shiatsu Elite Massage Cushion with Heat offers a relatively good massage (not fantastic, but not bad either). First I am going to list all the things I like about this massage cushion. I really like how this massage cushion includes the entire back area (neck to lower back) It's not exactly an entire massage chair since it only comes with the back area and a sitting cushion, but I actually prefer it this way. I feel like if this was an actual "massage chair," it'll take up too much space in my living room. This massage cushion makes it so easy to haul around in the house. For me, I prefer to just sit this massage cushion on top of my sofa (makes it seem like I'm actually sitting in a massage chair) I also really like how EASY it was to use. All you have to do is plug it in and then press the buttons on the remote. The remote has pictures of the areas you want to focus on (i.e. three massage zones: neck, upper back, lower back) and up/down areas to adjust the height. Super easy and straightforward! However, I found the deep-kneading massage nodes a little too rough for my back. At times, I found it painful (back area) so I would just have it massage my neck instead. Therefore, I thought that it offered a relative "good/alright" massage, but not necessarily a fantastic massage. Overall, I still like this product, but I don't find myself loving it.
HoMedics Shiatsu Elite Massage Cushion, with Heat, Model: Mcs-840h, ships to you fully assembled. When I removed the chair from the box, the cords are screwed into the chair. Do not pull them out you could break the chair. Look closer as there is a very small Allen wrench is attached to the very small hex screwed to the chair itself. At first, I did not see the wrench and thought the threads were standard Philips screw. What I liked about the chair: Easy to use. Neck massagers adjust up and down so short or tall people can benefit. Heat is just the right temperature to relax muscles. The rolling and rotating massage is deeply relaxing. There are 3 zones for the back: Upper, Full and Lowe. Easy to clean plastic material. Straps to hosting chair easily with Velcro straps. Handle for easy carrying. Soft easy reach pocket attached to chair holds remote. Remote is hard wired to chair so no more losing the remote. HoMedics® Shiatsu Elite Massage Cushion with Heat attaches easily to most chairs for instant relief. Portable so chair could be used at home or away, anywhere that is power. Did not like about the chair: The key pad colors are hard to read, especially in low light. A lighter contrasting color from the print would be much easier to read. After becoming familiar with the key pad this was not so much an issue. For me the neck massage, after properly adjusted to my height, made my neck sore. I found that is squeezed my neck to tight. Tried the neck massage many times over a week's time, sore neck every time. I have had the Dual massage chair of this brand and really enjoyed it. I do like this one as well. The best advice I could give someone considering a purchase of any of the wonderful HoMedics Shiatsu Massage Cushion with Heat is to try all of them before purchasing. Each has something to offer that is good for home chair massages.
I have received my HoMedics Shiatsu Elite Massage Cushion with Heat and I'm not overly impressed with it. It is an awesome concept and resembles the fancy chairs one sits in while getting a professional pedicure. However, it is not as comfortable as the fancy chairs and you have less control over it. What I noticed first is that even though you can adjust the height using the neck massage, it seems very difficult to get it in the correct spot. I am average height, about 5'5", and I feel it should have been made a bit taller in order to target the correct areas. Having said all that, if you can get it in the correct position the neck massage does feel pretty good. About the heat feature, the heat only works if the back massage is turned on. I would like to see the heat work independent of the massage feature. At the very least, it should also work when the neck massage is turned on. Heat is very relaxing to some of us and it would have been awesome to use this feature solo. As to the back massage, this feature is just painful after a few minutes. There needs to be an intensity level setting, but there is not. It seems to target a bit higher on the back (even the lower back feature) than I would prefer and it is much more intense than I prefer. There is no sitting back and relaxing while this is turned on as you tend to tense up from the intensity level. I typically love back massages, massage chairs, etc., but this one is just not suited to my body. I think with some adjustments in design it has potential to be a great product, but it’s not there just yet. I would not recommend this unless you can try it out first.
I have always been happy with Homedics products, however, this one was a disappointment! You can barely feel the back massagers, and they only go midway up your back. The neck massage part is great! But the space between mid-back and neck is completely overlooked by this product.
