Looks like a little Martian, all lit up, at night in our bedroom when all the lights have been turned off. My wife can finally get a good night's sleep without coughing her head off! It has also helped me, although my sinus and allergy reactions weren't as severe as my wife's. It does need to be 3 feet from all furniture and the walls.
Works better than expected. Very quiet even on the highest setting. Plan to buy two more to cover my whole house. Need two only because my house is laid out so weird. Good for pets and smoke. Great price.
I purchased two of these about a week ago and so far I am very happy with them. The first day there was an odor, but was gone the second day. I do hear it run but it very similar to a fan so it is not a big deal. I have noticed the air seems cleaner and also seems like there is less dust in the air!
First night we had it I ran it on high. The white noise was nice and both my wife and my allergies were completely gone.
This is one powerful machine. It really cleans up the air from dust, animal dander, smell, mold, etc... The first day I came home after work all day I could not believe how much different my downstairs smelled. We have an open concept livingroom / kitchen and the rooms smelled much better. I am clean and have no carpets but, I do have 6 cats in the house and a small dog. The place smelled like I just cleaned. I would say it is important to keep the filter system clean. Also, the add says there are not filters to be purchased but, there are. Some you take out and dust and one needs to be replaced every four months. After reading the manual I believe I can only get the small filter and the UV light bulb replacement on-line. With that being said, I'd still buy this again. It is much better than the old Honeywell clean air machine I purchased 10 years ago. Wow!
I have been struggling with health problems for the last two years, and this year allergies has made it to my list. I cleaned my house top to bottom and bought this purifier. It has helped with reducing dust and I can breathe again!
I ordered this unit because I have trouble sleeping. After only a 4 days of using this in my bedroom I find I wake up less and my breathing is easier. I really like the light, and quietness of this product. Thank You!
While the unit is a bit bigger than expected, it is good. Started using it on level three and dont need to blow my nose twenty times so soon as I wake up. That is a good thing. Could use a higher setting, but the noise increases with each level, although it is pretty quiet. While there are two permanent filters, the filter for odor needs to be replaced every three months.
I do recommend this product. However, I was very disappointed that the filter enclosed for odors has to be reordered every three months at a cost of $24.95. I felt the manufacturer should have explained that with the information about the product. The hepa filter does not have to be replaced. It is stated on the box and included with the explanation about the product that there are two filters and it misleads the consumer to believe their both standard. I ordered two so, it will be expensive to use.
The Good. This air purifier does seem to filter the air. It is also fairly quiet if used at one of the first 4 settings. That's the good. The not so good. The purifier itself has an Offensive odor. The purified air coming from it smells like cheap plastic. The charcoal filter did not change this odor. In fact nothing changed the odor of the purified air. The unit also emits a certain degree of heat. They probably all do but I thought this should be mentioned. Other reviewers mentioned that the unit would not turn back on if the back was taken off and then put back on. This happened to me when I installed the charcoal filter. The charcoal filter is slightly too thick for the unit and makes it darn near impossible to fasten the back on correctly resulting in a nonfunctional purifier. Finally, each funtion on top lights up if it is in use. During the day this is not noticable. However at night in a bedroom it is very annoying. If you like a dark bedroom you will hate this. Bottom line though, the one thing that is propelling me to return this item is its smell. So if you want clean air that smells clean this is not the unit for you.
