The just my style shoelace bracelet kit comes with 7 shoelaces 20 inches in size, 25 metallic flower beads, 50 metallic pony beads, 100 accent beads, and 42 alphabet beads. The beads are colorful and shiny. It gives you lots of options to personalize each bracelet. The directions are super easy. It says to choose your shoelace. Begin beading on either end. The beads stay in place wherever you put them. Make sure to leave enough room on each end for the big finish. When you are happy with your design, wrap it onto your wrist and tie in a big bow. Just like you would tie your shoes. Literally nothing else is needed. It's so simple compared to other jewelry making kits. Kids can make their own bracelet style in moments and all they need is someone's help to tie the bow to their wrists. That's really the only help they should need since it's kind of hard to tie a bow with one hand. My daughter made each of her good friends bracelets and it took less than a half an hour. Each friend got their own color and style since there is so much to choose from. It made my little girl feel like a real jewelry designer since she really didn't need any help creating each bracelet. And since she knows how to tie a shoe, she didn't need help finishing up each bracelet. I would definitely recommend this to anyone with a child that likes to make things. I will be buying several more for upcoming birthdays for some of my daughters friends.
I enjoyed working on this project. This is a good project for some best friends to get together to work on and spend some girl time together doing. You can make bracelets for yourself, for each other, or make bracelets to give away as a gift to someone. This project allows you to be creative. You can make a bracelet of one color or you can make a bracelet of many colors. You can make a bracelet for someone with a small wrist or you can make a bracelet for someone with a medium size wrist or you can make a bracelet for someone with a large wrist. This was an enjoyable project for me to do. I'm glad I choose this item to work on and review.
My daughter was thrilled to see the Just My Style Shoelace Bracelets kit when it arrived in the mail. She couldn't wait to open it and start making bracelets. Just My Style Shoelace Bracelets kit is easy to bead and lace and includes everything you need in the box. It has 7 shoelaces, 25 metallic flower beads, 50 metallic pony beads, 100 accent beads, 42 alphabet beads, and easy to follow instructions. The recommended age according to the box is 6+. My daughter had a ton of fun creating different bracelets with this kit. The only thing she said was that there should be more of the alphabet letters included because she was not able to make her full name, which, is Kimberlee. She made her bracelet using her initials. She made all her friends a special bracelet for Christmas. We intend to purchase another of these kits and the see if Walmart sell alphabet letter beads individually. This kit is very easy to use and the directions are quite clear and easy to follow. This is overall a great product and it is priced very well and I highly recommend it. It is a great gift item and looks like it would cost more than it does!
The age range on this bracelet set is 6 years plus; but let me tell you I got this set for my 4 year and I was so delighted I went out and purchased another! These are great for younger girls that are in the beginning stages of making their own bracelets. The set comes with tons of beads. Even after my daughter made all of the bracelets there were still beads left over. The beads include letters, flowers, metallic beads, and regular clear colored beads. All of the beads come sorted in separate bags which makes picking up easy and choosing beads easy as well. The pieces are big enough that small hands can easily make the bracelets and the beads won't easily slide off. Also, because you simply tie and untie, your child can change the bracelets at any time. One tip, for a flare for fashion you can put two shoelaces together and bead them. Another tip, knot both ends of the shoelace to ensure that the beads don’t slide off. I must admit that I was hesitant because she can’t tie shoes yet and I wondered if that would be the downfall. However, regardless of age, someone would have to tie the bracelet around the child’s wrist. It’s physically impossible for the child to tie it themselves. Get this set, you won’t be disappointed. It’s a great value and incredibly easy to use.
This was a great craft project to do with my 6 year old daughter, she was so excited when it came in the mail we opened it and made two bracelets right then. It was really easy to assemble the bracelets and there were multiple colors of shoe laces to choose from. The beads came in different colors, had flower shapes and letters for a very personal bracelet for someone. There wasn't any problems getting the beads onto the shoe laces which was great not having to struggle just to make it. I do wish there were just a couple more shoe laces and the beads are small so they will be a choking hazard for small children. Overall I think this is a great gift for a crafty child or something a parent and child can enjoy together.
This kit was so much fun to play with. I gathered a few neighborhood girls and we spent a couple of hours playing with the kit. The letter beads did not make very many words. The need a few more vowels and had 2 letter Qs. I felt like I was playing a loosing game of Scrabble. Getting past making words, we had a fun time making the bracelets. The beads slid on and off with ease and did not fall of the other end of the string. We did lots of rearranging and the beads slid off with ease. There really are seven bracelets even though my pictures show only 6. One of the girls refused to take hers off for the pictures. Two days later, she is still wearing it. We put one on the doll as a headband just for more fun. Great value for the money. The girls are still playing with these.
This was a fun creative toy for a 9 year old girl. She built several bracelets for Mom, Aunt, friends and self. It nice to watch her creative mind as she put together bracelet for other and her interpretation of what she thought they would like. (Such as fav color, design beads, and cord color). I would recommend this as a gift if looking for something to do together for a small creative parent & child project. The best part is that it can be re-deigned over and over again for a "new" design to match an outfit for school daily. It was fun and helped create mutual conversation and sharing of ideas between parent and child, which is some times lacking in this world of electronic and HD TVs. As an adult - I actually enjoyed the Shoelace Bracelet kit as well. lol The 9 year old - she had smiles the entire time while she created the bracelets. Those moments are precious!
The Just My Style Shoelace Bracelet kit is a perfectly simple kit rated for ages 6+. My almost 7 year old daughter loved it. It is a basic concept of stringing beads onto a shoe lace then tying it to create a bracelet. You get a bunch of shoe laces and various beads ranging from basic beads, to flower shaped and even letter beads. My daughter had a blast using it and has been creating bracelets like crazy. My almost 9 year old son even made one for her with it. The shoelaces are a tad long to make bracelets so when you get it to the size to fit around a 6 year olds wrist there is a lot of excess string hanging. It didn't bother my daughter but it kept getting caught on things. We could cut the string to make it shorter but there are aglets on the ends to stop fraying. It's very easy to increase the supply as well since it's only shoelaces and beads. Really, depending on the cost of this product you could duplicate this kit with some basic shoelaces and beads so there are more options. Overall this is a good kit, simple for younger kids to do and a good start for beginner bracelet makers. I would recommend this product.
The Just My Style: Shoelace Bracelet is a great product to use and customize. The Shoelace Bracelets come with 7 Shoelaces, 25 Metallic Flower Beads, 50 Metallic Pony Beads, 42 Alphabet Beads, etc. The box is complete with all the accessories you need to create cool bracelets. My daughters showed me how easy it was to create these unique bracelets. With various colors and shapes, they customized their bracelets based on their clothing and backpacks. Yes, backpacks! I helped my daughters create the bracelet that hangs on their backpacks. The great thing about this product is that it can be customized to anything to want. I believe my daughter made one to fit her sneakers just to add flair and style. With easy to use beads and laces, I did not see any sense of frustration from my daughters when they were making these bracelets. However, it would be nice if they add another set of letters to the set. It seems my daughters ran out of letters to make up words on the bracelets. The only caution would be to keep these beads out of smaller children’s reach. The beads are smaller in size but it may be a choking hazard for little kids. The Just My Style: Shoelace Bracelet will be a great gift for somebody who is into making their own clothing or jewelry. I believe this product challenges the person’s imagination to create unique bracelets that they can be proud of. I highly recommend this product to anybody who is looking for projects that they can make and wear. I believe that the Just My Style: Shoelace Bracelets and other Just My Style products will inspire all in creating unique items. It would also be a great activity for a get-together with friends.
Just My Style Shoelace Bracelets may be good for a short rainy day activity but not much more. It advertises that you can personalize the bracelets and you can, but there are only enough letters to do one , maybe two names depending on the letters. Do not use this for more than one child who wants a name. We were able to get one name and put a couple of words on the second one because the second name needed letters that had been used. A third would have been a stretch. Just an FYI, the metallic beads stain your skin. This was the biggest flaw. Why make something you can't really wear. I wore mine less than an hour and ended up with staining on my wrist (see picture). I would not pay more than a few bucks for this item. The box is several times larger than what you actually get- don't get sucked in by size!!!
