This is as close as you can get to authentic, in fact I've had "authentic" that wasn't even as good as this can. I always keep some on hand.
This is the best tasting menudo next to homemade and only takes a couple of minutes to warm and eat. This is the hot version but they offer a mild version as well.
Of course, I doctored it up, a bit, with some onions (as suggested, on the can). I friend some onions, and added a bit of turmeric and chili powder, sautéed that for a few minutes, and added the canned ingredients, let simmer for a bit and added some fresh coriander. It was super good! I agre that it isn't as good, served cold.
Though I am not Hispanic or Mexican, I've eaten enough home-cooked menudo to recommend Juanita's on a Wednesday or Thursday, when the weekend-only home-cooked menudo from your favorite Mexican restaurant is unavailable! Don't forget freshly-chopped onions and cilantro and a squeeze of lime to really top-off this substitute!
this is my favorite menudo! I don't always have time to make it from scratch and this is so delicious I can't get enough of it! I like how spicy it is.
I was craving some so I decided to take a chance I tell you it's not bad at all
Yummy flavor, fast to warm up. Beats going to your local Mexican market. Add some cilantro, onions, oregano and lime and it's perfect!
I ordered 2 hot %26 spicy and only got 1 hot %26 spicy %26 1 regular.
Even after boiling it and all, the taste is horrible and even smells bad as well. It does not even come close to authentic menudo. Plus it has more hominy than anything. Might as well be pozole at that point. Overall, very disappointing. Thought this would be a somewhat quick and good meal when craving menudo, but would not recommend
my cans are beat up
