Love the Orchid Gray case!! The only reason for giving it 4 starts in value and features is I want more! I would love to see the case have the ability to unlock phone, view and reply to text messages. Keep the high tech coming Samsung!
This is the best car i have ever purchased. The quality is great but the best part is the LED and animation on the screen. You can customized LEDs to display for various things. I have received tons of complimemts.
I always have to have my phone in a case and this case fits my new S8 perfectly. The built in LED screen show the time/caller and other features but what amazes me is how it works. The case has no connection to the phone at all and yet the LEDs on the case have the power to light up AND have the correct time and other data, it truly is magic! I am guess that it uses the Qi somehow but its awesome!
Why, oh why, does the time shut off??? I want the clock to show all the time. Otherwise, it defeats the purpose, when I still have to open the case to see the time. That's really pretty disappointing. I do like the custom icons
I have owned the case for several months and find it very interesting with all the features it provides. Others have stated it does not protect the phone when dropped. However, does protect the phone's surfaces from everyday scratching. The best feature is being able to talk through the case and keeps that oily residue off the screen surface. The only downside is for the price it should protect the phone when dropped.
I thought the features of this case were great. The LED icons all work well with the exception of the music control. Even with the Samsung Music App, only the equalizer shows, no pause or skip. The case also does not stay closed well and that's without any cards in the slot. There was a warning sticker indicating a magnet was present in the case bottom, but it doesn't appear to function well in securing closure.
I have been using this case since I purchased my GS8 in April. Had I written my review in the first few weeks, it would have been glowing. I love the way the case functions with the LED features of the phone. You can design LED symbols on the phone to represent different contacts so you know they are calling without opening the cover. The time and other notifications show through perfectly and you can control somethings via the LED display as well. I did drop the phone once and the case did not protect it as the phone flipped over, the cover opened and the phone landed screen down. I have been using the card slot to hold my metrocards (for non New Yorkers, these are very thin plastic cards for public transportation, significantly thinner than credit cards). I like the convenience. However, I just noticed that the edges of the cards are damaging my screen!! I guess no one tested this case with a phone or they would have discovered this awful design flaw. My other complaint is that the case is getting dirty over time due to the fabric and I can't see a way to effectively clean it. I would say don't buy this case, but I suspect there are better samsung cases out there. In general, I think Samsung makes the best cases for their phones. I did buy another, non-Samsung case but the LED features don't work, so I don't use it.
I have owned this for about 4 months now and I can honestly say I am getting a different case. I absolutely loved the LED screen and the feel of the case, but there are some major problems with it. I have my license in the card slot and have never put more than one card in there. The pocket has stretched so much that my license falls out all the time. It has also scratched my screen to oblivion in just a matter of weeks. I specifically asked if it would do that, and they assured me it wouldn't. If you drop your phone, prepare for your case to flip open and have the phone pop out. This happened on day 2 of having this case. It has happened many times since. My screen is pretty damaged. If you have a screen protector on the phone it helps a bit, but not much.
The case has great features, but when I dropped it, the phone came off the case and now my phone has a big crack on the screen and yet the case has zero injuries. What's the point of a case, even if it has excellent features, if it doesn't even provide some protection for an expensive phone.
Unlike the S-View Flip Cover which has a magnet to make sure the cover STAYS closed, the LED Wallet Cover does NOT have a magnet or any mechanism to make sure the cover stays closed and your screen will break if dropped. Most people find this out the hard way.
