[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We bought this Maytag 4.2 cu.ft. Top load washer washer with “deep water wash” a month ago, and I “highly recommend” it!!! This is our second HE washer, and to be honest I was wishing I could go back to a “normal” washer. I also was seriously considering another brand. Our previous one was also a Maytag, and I was very disappointed in it. Many times when unloading it I would find articles of clothing still partially dry which was very frustrating. I was not overloading it by any means. When I saw the inside of this washer, I was impressed by the size of it. Unfortunately, I can't tell you what size our old one was, but it definitely was smaller. The old washer lasted us 11 years. By looking at this new model I could tell the laundry would be spread out more, instead of a high pile. While looking at the control buttons I noticed the Deep Water” button, Yay!! Our old washer locked once it started. There was a button, if held for 3 seconds, would eventually open so that I could add an additional item. (which was usually a pair of socks or a dish towel, not a large, heavy item). Once it actually started washing I wasn't able to open to see the amount of water being used.
I bought our Maytag washer almost a month now and I love it, it's the largest top load washer I have ever owned. It has all the features I needed in a washer and I really love the hand wash cycle. The Maytag is the quietest washer. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
I'm was 84 years old at the time my 34 year old Maytag washer quit. When I would open the lid of my washed clothes, they were in the same position as I had put them and didn't seem to be getting clean. After complaining many times to my family a daughter showed me a video as to how my machine should work. That's when I found out that the agitator was not moving. My son googled reasons for this and ordered parts. Upon tipping the machine on its side he discovered the machine had not been completely assembled! I don't like auto sensing. I prefer my low, medium and large settings on my old Maytag. Here is the YouTube video: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/foI9EAntCzc
I bought the washer and dryer set and i hate this washer. It's very noisy, it's doesn't click, it clunks!! The water sensor takes too long and the deep water setting still doesn't fill and cover the clothes. The bulky setting doesn't get the sheets clean and I have to hand wring those at the bottom. It doesn't wash away hair or dirt from mats. It just sits in the drum. I just never know if my laundry is going to be clean. The cycle take too long up to 1hr which is too long when i have 5 loads. Looking to change to a new washer [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It has bad balance or something. I'm always having to unload and re load it to make the clothes to dry
One queen size blanket in Super wash, Heavy, Sensing wash there is only a small amount of water not even enough to wash over half the blanket. When using deep water its the same. Part of the blanket is like a big balloon at the top and it is not being washed. The agitator is barely moving enough to do anything. Maytag says the rubbing of the clothes against each other washes the clothes; well I say waster washes clothes. My clothes are pilling, wrinkled and I'm not sure if their even washed.
Have had washer for 7 months. Can't find help online to fix. Washer eating clothes. If had not of been at home to turn off when noise started would have burnt up motor. I have never seen a washer eat the clothes. Takes forever to wash items. Registered item when bought and everything keeps asking for the paperwork. Unfortunately can't get hands on paperwork right now. That is part of reason to register product.
I am not happy with the way this machine washes. First of all, I always like to add the soap while it's filling with water. You can't do this as soon as you open the lid when it's on Fill, it stops. The. I checked my clothes to see if they were covered with water once the fill cycle was over and it went to Wash. They were not. I have read the directions. I know you cannot put the cycle on Normal and get s full tub of water. I do t want a full tub. I just want to cover my clothes so the agitator works to swish them and clean them. My white socks did not clean. I washed a towel that had grime from the floor twice and it did not clean. I could go on and on Why can't you design a simple washing machine that lets me choose the level of the water I want. The speed I want. Etc! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
I miss my old washer dryer ! This washer leaves soap residue , and now it has decided to suck my sheet under the basins bottom plate !! It is less than 2 years old ! I am soooooo disappointed , and now I am going to have to pay for a service call ??? If that ends up being the case , I will never buy Maytag again
This machine does not properly wash clothes. They simply soak. The water level does not always cover the clothes. The agitator does not even move the clothes. I laid a white cloth on top at the beginning of the wash. As you can see from the photos when the wash was nearly finished the cloth absorbed water but did not wash. It simply laid on top. The deep water fill is all or nothing. It fills the machine FULL and wastes water. There is no adjusting the water level. After 2 different He machines I am looking for a old model that actually washes clothes.
