I've had the 250 GB now since last August. I've had zero problems and it's better then any of the other 360's made. I've had 2 others. super quiet and plays discs that my old 360 started having problems reading. doesn't get hot. Some ppl think that the fan blowing out the heat from the inside is the machine getting hot, however the fan is doing its job keeping the heat from staying trapped inside the unit. do not get confused.
The new slick black controler, 250 GB hard drive is a nice touch, built in wifi!! Just get one already
It's the new form factor XBOX 360 with a 250GB drive. It's everything you'd expect out of an xbox. My only complaints is it doesn't come with an HDMI cable and doesn't come with 1 free month of gold membership to xbox live.
One of the best consoles you want to buy its easy to setup also, this xbox 360 come with built-in 802.11 wireless N speed fastest downloads will only takes 15min but it depend on you ISP bandwidth tho. plus Xbox live is Awesome!! you get in to early MP demos and discounts on Xbox live arcade games/DLC content. Amazing console for the price, I also have a PS3 but the downloads take forever to download a demo and the price for PSN plus is 50 bucks a year only with 3 months 7.99 but you still have to paid 50 buck after the end of that 3 months time point.
I own an xbox elite already but i need to buy a wireless adapter because i moved 2 a new place and i couldn't keep my xbox by the router anymore. So i looked at buying this one instead. It comes wireless already with over double the hard drive space and its smaller and a lot more quite. But the best thing is that its faster wireless then the old xbox was when it was hooked up with an Ethernet cable. the touch sensitive buttons are a plus too.
I love this new xbox. I had my son playing it since 3pm it is now 1:35am It really runs quite and it just heats up like a computer does no biggie. I still want a ps3 cuz some of my friends have it. But for real you guys this new 360 is silent the wifi works really great. i hope the ps3 dont run loud, because I can just stay with my ps2. I just wish ps2 members can play online with ps3 members. That would really be just great. lol
I'll be honest I traded my Jasper Xbox 360 in for the new xbox because of the wireless capabilities, quiter unit, and the larger hard drive not to mention Kinect direct hookup. (For those who don't know the "Jasper" I'm speaking of is the name of the chipset within the xbox. Technically speaking the Jasper chipset has a 65nm CPU and a 65nm GPU on the motherboard. Nm= Nanometer= really small. Smaller number = smaller chip= less heat) I'm sure many people know that the xbox had a lot of red light issues due to overheating which brings me to the point i'm trying to make. This new unit is called the "Valhalla" chipset and it has the CPU and the GPU on a single superchip unit along with one fan cooling the board. The original of course had two and the vents were in the back. The Jasper unit I had barely got warm even after several hours of use. This new xbox works great with all the perks I spoke of before other than I definitely notice this unit is blowing out some serious heat from its vent. My only explanation is because the fan sits right on top of the chip. I'm only hoping that this unit doesn't mess up but we'll see. Like I said other than that concern the new xbox is sweet and I can't wait to get the Kinect! Don't let this review sway your judgement I personally suggest getting the new xbox for all it has and I want to believe that at this point all the kinks have finally been taken out of the system.
Very good meets my expectations. Make sure to leave space for the exhaust fan on the right side of the xbox. It gets quite hot but it's better that it blows out the hot air instead of melting itself down :)
Ok...To start this review I would like to say that I personally own all three consoles(360, Wii, PS3). So i have been there and tried all three. Now the new 360 is amazing. I love the new vents. The 360 S puts out so much hot air, so be careful what you put it next too. The 250 Gb hard drive is plenty enough room for even the most avid video watcher. Love the new controller. I have only had it for like 2-5 days, but have logged like 20 hrs of game time already. The only thing I have noticed is not as great as advertised is the wireless card. It is not as strong as i wish it could be. If you are planning on placing it across the house from the router then plan on picking up the network adapter. I still had mine so it wasnt a deal breaker for me. This system is kinect ready so that was great for me and i am excited to see that come out. Overall I would highly recommend if you can find this and are planning on picking up your first 360 or are looking for a bigger hard drive or kinect this holiday season, This is definitely the system for you.
As soon as I heard about this newer version of the Xbox 360, I was immediately excited. The things I was most excited about was the expanded hard drive, quieter machine, as well as the wireless being built in. The extra HD space so far is GREAT, and so is the quieter machine (it's amazing how much of a better experience gaming is!). The wireless portion of it gave me trouble at first. The console I had shipped site-to-store wouldn't let me connect via wireless (didn't even show wireless capability). This was easily fixed through Walmart's easy return policy, however. Got a new console, it recognized the wireless card immediately, and have had nothing but a great experience since! Even if you already own an Xbox 360, I greatly encourage you to buy this new version. It works quieter, seems to work more efficiently, and the new power brick design is great too!
