I was very pleased with the taste and quality of this product. I'm wishing I had bought more of it. Love that it is only two servings per packet. I'm a happy camper!
First time with MH products. The chicken breast & mashed potatoes was an excellent meal that I shared with my wife. We both agreed that it was easy to prepare and more than enough for each of us. Both the chicken and the mashed potatoes were flavorful with consistent texture and quality. Hard to believe that this was actually a freeze dried product. I really wish that this was optionally available as a pro-pak.
This is the best meal in my opinion. I find that the chicken breasts will get crushed and you'll end up with chicken chunks mixed with mashed potatoes. You soak the chicken for a few minutes then toss the mashed potatoes in with the chicken and water. you can't beat the dry weight.
Chicken was a whole piece of grilled meat-wow, good texture & taste. Potatoes were salty, but tasted good even a little cheesy? I would buy again, there were two portions . We bought in 2012 & ate 2022 - with food “expired” 2018. Very good taste and chicken breast texture , nice grill marks too.
This product by far exceeds what most people expect from a freeze-dried meal. A couple extra preparation steps are required, but the final meal is well worth it. The chicken is super tender, and the potatoes have a great stand-alone taste. These are definitely in my pantry for both emergency needs as well as an occasional menu change up.
Decided to have lunch on the trail this weekend and took the Chicken and Mashed Potatoes with me. Wow, was I surprised! I was scraping the bottom of the pouch wishing there was more. Great portion size, but tasted fantastic! Sorry to see the limited release sold out. :(
Have been a long time backpacker. Always pick mountain house. The chicken and mashed potatoes is by far my favorite. I've never had an entree I didn't like. Can't go wrong
This pouch is very easy to prepare and is a filling meal for two people. Being a simple dish with just two notes (chicken and potatoes) it suits me just fine, not sweet or overly salty. If you prefer some other notes, just add a small amount of black pepper and some dried chives. Great meal. I bought 20. So? I'm on the spectrum.
For emergency food its pretty good. Glad to have it on my shelf.
This is what I want to eat if the power goes out or when I go camping. It's quick, easy, and tastes great!
