With all that is goin on in the world right now this was delivered in a very timely manner. I am familiar with Mountain House product quality ( its the best ) so no need to say more. Y'all are the BEST hands down. Lookin forward to you getting your kits back in stock ...... hoping it will be soon..
Pro-Pak packaging is the tops. Small, easy to backpack with-go light. Food is outstanding! Walmart beats all others in price.
I planned my twelve year old daughter and my backpacking trip using only Mountain House products as it was a name I grew up with. Having said that this was her choice for a lunch and I had never had this meal before. This stuff was similar to boxed lasagna you add hamburger to and tasted surprisingly good. The flavor blended well.
I bought this for backpacking dinners as well as other flavors and the breakfast meals for breakfast. All were great. There very salty so great if you are being really active. Prolly to salty if it were being used with out significate physical activity. All the meals were good enough from my first backpacking trip five months ago for me to not hesitate on ordering enough for my upcoming five night wilderness adventure.
This was no less than fantastic. So many times citric acid is used as a fake flavor. I happen to be allergic, so I can always tell when that's been done. This stuff was real flavor, of ingredients, not additives. Not only did I have no averse reaction, but it tastes great!
I have used Mountain House meals for over 20 years on numerous week long back packing hikes. I am never disipoi9nted with any of the meals but Lasagna with Meat Sauce is one of my favorites. I highly recommend it. I have never been disappointed with any of the Mountain House meals. They are quick in preparation, tasty, and filling.
I was truly stunned with the quality of the meal. A true, authentic, Italian flavor. From the consistency of the noodles to the viscosity of the sauce, the balance was there. It was such a joy to sit down with this mountain house meal after a long, cold day hiking. I can not say enough about the sheer delight this meal gave me. Bravo!
Very filling, with a good tasting sauce just like I remember. Some things change in this world, but luckily some things don't . I added a pinch of pepper just to add a little kick to it. I also add just a little bit more water than recommended, just to get all the goodie hydrated. I save up my pennies for my Mountain House, but good consistent quality is not cheap.
These are great products for boat camping and long days fishing. The only down side I have with Mountain House, is I would like to see more single serve. Biscuit and gravy for sure. Buying a 2.5 serving is a waste for me because I can't eat that much.
Also, it needs more noodles (like chicken-flavored Cup-Noodles®, and I add crumbled organic "Ritz"-type-crackers, and/or non-GMO corn-starch, to thicken the sauce .
