Love this item however what i really needed was the gaskets which i tried to order. I found them on line with 8.00 shipping charges. Since I could get gaskets and the container for about the same price, I have two of them now which is ok and no waste on shipping charges. I would appreciate walmart offering just gaskets or possibly gaskets and blades. My oster blender was purchased in the 1970s. I love it i just keep buying new blades and gaskets.
I have the large osterizer with the glass jar, but on mornings when I am running late this accessory lets me throw together a protein and fruit smoothie to drink on the way to work. When I get to work a quick rise in the sink and we are good to go. When I get home I throw it in the dishwasher ( top rack) and its ready for the next use. A few days ago i was going to rinse it out a work and dropped it, at first I started to freak out because I have had to replace my glass jar before, but then I remembered its plastic, it bounced three time on the concrete floor and skip to a stop, not a scratch. Bingo.
I have used this item twice. This cup was easy to use and easy to clean. The cup and lid are plastic. Lid snaps closed tight, and takes two hands to open. I do as another reviewer suggested, and use a straw as you can't drink from the cup without the lid hitting you in your face. The blender component worked well for my smoothies which use frozen strawberries. Put the frozen items in first, then the soft or liquid items.
Bought one of these when I cracked the ring on my regular blender pitcher, and realized that buying one of these, which includes the ring, would only cost a little more than a replacement ring, plus shipping, from Oster. I'm very happy with it; it's very convenient if you make smoothies daily, like I do.
I was wanting a single blender for drinks, etc. but realized my Oster was much more powerful. When I saw the Blend-n-Go I decided to try it. I love it!!! Great for the summer. I throw water, juice or fruit in with ice and off we go. It's so convenient and easy to fix. I plan on getting another one for my grandson. My original Oster blender lasted for over twenty years but I broke the jar so I just replaced the whole unit. Then I saw the Blend-n-Go and I am so happy I purchased it. Can't wait to order another one.
I'm so glad I found this single serve accessory kit. It is just what I needed. I always make too much and end up throwing out the leftover. The cup travels well, in car or biking. I was looking at the single serve units when I came across this. Easy to clean too.
It is still a decent product as it does fit onto a standard blender and the original blender blade and plastic fittings fit exactly onto the bottle, so as the name implies you can "blend and go" by just taking off the blender blade base and putting your to go cap on. I make a protein shake each morning and wanted to get a sturdy blender bottle like the oster 18 oz. one I had from 6 or so years ago. They made this new one in a thinner plastic version instead of the tempered glass/hard double-walled heavy duty plastic of the previous design. This was a huge disappointment. However it is still a great value and super convenient to be able to use a real full size blender and an original blade that chops through a cup of ice cubes in seconds. I get nice, thick protein shakes that taste like a McDonald's milk shake.
These are great for protein shakes. Just blend it up, put the cap on, and take it with you. I gave it an average rating for value because it comes with another blade that is the same as the one on the blender. How about offering one with just the cup and cap? I needed 4 of these, and now I have 5 blades. My family has had Oster blenders and other Oster products since I was a child, and now I am 60, and we have always been satisfied with their products. I had no qualms about ordering these kits, because of their quality.
the "sport bottle" is a joke. it works ok for blending but the lid that makes it an on-the-go sports bottle is horrendous. the whole to drink through is way too small and there's no vent hole so the liquid does not come out to easily, especially if the drink is thicker than water. the blades and gaskets that come with the kit work great...actually i bought it solely for the gaskets so i can't be too mad about the whole purchase.
I used to have a bullet that finally burned up. I drink smoothies for breakfast everyday, and was considering purchasing a new bullet when I remembered a friend had a smoothie cup designed to work with her Oster blender. Hers was an older model cup. It was hard clear plastic, and came with a straw to insert into the lid. That was a great design. I have no idea why Oster changed it. This new cup does not have a straw, it has a flip up lid that when drinking, comes up between your eyes and hits your nose! You CANNOT drive while trying to drink, you cannot see around the hulking lid. I would gladly pay $12.00 for the old style cup, but I remember seeing them clearanced out at my walmart. Had I known at that time I would want them, I would have bought the whole lot! The working aspect of this cup is great. Heavy duty SHARP steel blades. I needed several cups, so I would have liked to be able to buy just the cup for a lesser amount and only have one blade. Bottom line? Oster NEEDS TO FIX THE LID, or go back to the old design, hey now, theres a thought!
