I bought this TV and when I received it; I was happy with ,the set up,the picture, the volume, and all the features. cant beat the price for digital on the go.
The Philips 9" portable is a good deal and has a great picture. I could get all the channels I expected in the suburbs and downtown. The picture quality is excellent. The sound quality is good. I would recommend this product.
One of the few with a larger screen and the cost in my opinion cannot be beat here. Graet reception and many channels couldn't have asked for more. Great buy
Wow! This tv went well beyond my expectations. It got a clear, sharp picture that was as good, if not better, than the tv sitting next to it hooked up to cable. It got channels that I didn't know were available. All channels were received without adjusting the way the rabbit ears faced or the tv. I LOVE it! We wanted something for when the cable goes out (or power) and we are set.
This is a nice tv, but unless you're going to use it strictly as a hand-held TV, you should really consider the Sylvania 9". I ended up buying both because I couldn't get the total list of features on either any other way. Although the design of this tv is nicer, the Sylvania's remote controls power and volume (this phillip's control does NOT offer those features) AND the Sylvania 9" offers SLEEP TIMER. Nice to have because I use it on my night stand. The settings on both allow you to set audio and video to your own PERSONAL likings so you can overcome any shortcomings of those concerns; but I like the Sylvania SO much more because of the features I mentioned in the remote...and the Sylvania doesn't cost as much. Hope that helps you!
Everything is great but the lack of an on and off button and volume control on the remote makes trips to the set troublesome when it is set up for cable in a small area. I understand that the remote receiver needs constant power but the on-off remote could work when the set is on external power. The volume control should be on the remote in any circumstance.
Picture is great. Size is perfect for the kitchen. However, sound level is difficult to set, it has a volume dial on the side, and it is either too loud or too low a lot of times. Sound goes out when you try to lower the volume, so you have to play with it. You cannot control volume with the remote.
Manual power switchand manual volume control limits this TV's versatilityand usefulness along with convenience. Sound is poor as well as picture. Over priced
The sound is tinny and there's no way to add aux speakers, the battery can't be replaced, there's no car adapter, there's no USB port, can't turn on TV with remote, which is hard to work. Picture quality is great.
Bought this unit to use outside near spa. Could not receive any channels except Spanish. None of the standard English channels would come in. Drove all over town to see if it was just my location and could not get any better reception. TV is terrible in rural area but might work very well in a metropolitan area.
