Purchased to replace my older triple head Norelco that I managed to break after many years. Works nearly as well even with only two heads. Advertised as self sharpening which would be a plus. My beard is heavy but it still cut two days growth fine. Takes a few extra passes to acheive the 3 head result, fine product.
The quality is very good for the low price. I have a regular Norelco shaver and it takes about twice as much space in my luggage as this travel shaver does. It is surprisingly heavy for it's size but still probably lighter than the regular Norelco. Takes a little longer to shave since there are only two heads instead of three, and it seems to be a little noisier but not too much. This is probably something you should take the batteries out of between uses if you only travel a couple of times per year so a leaking battery doesn't ruin it.
Recently the electric razor I had since 2001 finally bit the dust and I was in need of a new one. After doing some research I came across this little gem. The price just can’t be beat. You could purchase two of this item here for the price you would pay for one on Amazon.com. Shaves just as close as my last Norelco which was much more expensive. Great for those who are looking for a good electric razor without breaking the bank. Definitely recommended!
I like it and more important my son likes it. I bought it for him, because for some reason he is growing hair on his face at 15 years old, I know he hasn't shaved to prompt it, because I know he hasn't and because of where it is coming in. I was going to get him an expensive one, but I thought I had better see if he'll use it at all before I dump a lot of money on one. I don't use electric razors, but I might if I can find one that shaves and trims my beard. He used this one and it left him smooth and didn't pull hair like I remember them doing when I tried one many years ago. I like that it uses double A batteries instead of charging , which would be helpful when we travel and would be ready to use when needed instead of finding out it needs to be charged at the time you need to use it. We don't know about the longevity of it as we have only had it for a couple of weeks, but so far it's been a great deal.
Not only has this little battery powered shaver exceeded the company's advertising of 60 minutes of operation on one set of AA's but I'm already up to 17 shaves! The surprising thing is that those shaves have been as close or closer than my much larger and much more expensive Norelco electric shaver. May be using it for more than just travel! Have bought a handful of them as gifts. Store price was higher than online price at the time. Highly recommended.
Although this does not cut as close as a regular razor blade, I think it works perfectly for what it is. It's a first razor for our son and at least I don't have to worry about him cutting himself. Nice small size and the batteries seem to last a while, keeping in mind my son does not use it everyday.
I bought this just to keep in my car in case I needed to shave and couldn't make it home. I was impressed with the high quality construction of the razor, and although I only used it for a few seconds on one side of my face, I could tell it would give me about the best shave I could expect from an electric razor. It even came with batteries installed! I am thinking about buying more of these either to give away as gifts or to keep for myself.
My husband has a difficult face to shave. When his " good" shaver broke, we bought this as an interim shaver. He got his best shave in over 50 years. We went back and ordered 3 more, for holiday gifts and as a spare for him! Definitely five stars.
I've used battery operated shavers for years, all of them foil shaver and this is the first rotary battery shaver. Let me point out that I have used rotary shaver before and never liked it more than foil shaver. I have another Norelco corded 3 head rotary shaver nearly unused in my drawer. I like this 2 head shaver much better, probably because the head is smaller, follow the contour of my face easier. Compare to foil shaver, this seems to shave deeper unlike my previous experience with the rotary, and it runs much quieter. Another benefit is that the cutter will last longer on this than foil, main reason for the switching. Negative side is it takes longer to shave because the actual cutting area is 2 points instead of 1 line on foil, you have to go many more swipes to get the shave done. Over all, I'm happy with this purchase and currently testing how long the batteries(Eneloop) will last before they need the charge again.
I have owned a small Norleco electric razor for almost 30 years and it still works OK but just a little bit noisy. I have used a small special sharpener to keep it to a good condition. I have tried to buy the same one but could not find it. Since I do not know the model number of the replacement head, so I have to look for a new one. I happened to find this tiny battery-operated razor and wanted to give it a try and it works well so far. The only thing that surprised me was that the shipping box was may be 30 to 40 times larger than the product itself. It's a waste of money. At first I thought they might ship the wrong item to me. But ended with that the tiny item which I ordered was in the giant box.
