It's perfect, works great! Gives a very close and clean shave...I wish I would've gotten this for him before. I've went through three others before finding this one, glad I got it!
Recently switched from my 11yr old Remington razor to this one and love that so much about it is familiar but it's "new and improved". Love that I can rinse it out and really appreciate the digital display of how much time is left until it needs a charge. Snap-on cover to protect blades is appreciated and I just use my old case since this one doesn't come with one. A bit closer of a shave than my last one and rotating heads are a nice bonus. Recommend it. Was concerned that when it shipped it was just placed in it's off-the-shelf packaging into a flexible enevelpe and stuck in the mail with no additional packaging. Fortunately it made it to us safe and sound.
I have always bought this razor, works well...I make sure they have the titanium coated blades....usually stay sharp for a year...then i easily replace just the blades....finally bought another complete razor , instead of changing the blades, after 5 years of use. The sideburn trimmer attachment went dull after a couple of years but the new one I will now oil just the trimmer attachment weekly...My 5 year old one still keeps a charge and runs well to this day
This electric shaver is amazing!!!! WOW...quick 5 min charge!!!!!! LOVE LOVE LOVE that feature!!!!! I got this for my teenage son who is just starting to shave for the first time in his life!!! Its easy to use....waterproof ...and takes only 5 min charge(can also be used while plugged in)!!!!!! Powerful yet glides of the sensitive skin with ease... my son loves it!!! and so much safer and faster then a tradition razor!! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
The shaver is great however the power adapter is disappointing. The wire is stiff and very light. The transformer protrudes out from the wall quite a bit. My previous shaver, a Remington, had a transformer that hugged the wall and a coiled cord made of stranded wire so it could be pulled out to use and would retract when finished. Everything was very neat and orderly. This cord seems to always be in the way.
My only issue with the shaver is the clip to release cut hair, it's not very ergonomically designed! other than that the charger cord is very long LoL!
The R5 Power Series Rotary Shaver by Remington gave a very close shave. It was very easy to use. The trimmer worked well and was easy to push the button and pop it up for use. I like that It is very lightweight compared to the last shaver I had used. I gave it a quick charge right out of the box and it did work just fine. I did put it back on the charger for a full 24 hours before I used it again, Since it did state to charge it for 24 hours before the first use. The head is easily removed for cleaning. I have been a daily electric shaver user for 15+ years. After getting poor results with another brand shaver I moved to Remington two shavers ago (~5 years). With this shaver, it seems like Remington is looking more like their competition, weaker RPM, the power supply box is now out of the shaver casing, flimsy plastic. It used to be very convenient to just carry a standard cord while travelling, now even though the body has become larger, I will have to carry the explicit power supply box. The Pivot implementation is annoying, because it feels like there is friction between the outer casing and the blade holder (top of the shaver), in reality there is no friction. The outer body has a glossy finish. This shaver body is larger than past shavers, which could help people with gripping difficulty. In short with this shaver Remington is trying to look more their competition, and giving up on their strengths, which were solid build, higher RPM, power supply inside a solid body, using a standard power cord.
While the display of hours remaining and overall battery capacity is great, the actual function of shaving is terrible. I switched from Norelco to Remington on a whim (based on price) and am totally dismayed. The rotary cutting system of Remington is garbage; it keeps grabbing and pulling the hair instead of cutting. It makes shaving TORTURE! Going back to Norelco.
