Decent bike at an excellent price!!

I bought this bike on clearance at my local Wal-Mart store for only $39.00 -- What a great deal! It works pretty well, and rides nice. I wanted a bike to use for in the neighborhood for a little bit of exercise and this will do the trick. For the cheap price I paid, the bike seems very well made. I am quite happy with this purchase.

Considering the price, I thought that this bike was a bargain and I would definitely recommend buying it. I bought it a little over a month ago and have been extremely happy with it. I ride it about 10 miles each day and ride almost daily. I haven't had any problems with it what so ever, so the employee who assembled it at Wal-Mart obviously did a great job. Of course, I'd have to agree that the bike's seat isn't the most comfy but what bike seat is, unless you buy a gel one? Additionally, I have some extra weight on me and I think that this bike is also pretty well made and sturdy. Especially if money is an issue...ya just can't beat the price!!! Also, everyone should purchase a bike and try to ride it as much as possible, not just for the physical benefits but also to save your money on gas and to help save the earth! Good luck.

Not the best bike out there by any means...but it definitely the best I could get for the price paid. The bike works fine. The only drawback is the seat...its small and uncomfortable. Make sure to get an extra gel seat to fix this issue

Great Bike for the Money

For the price, this is a fantastic bike. The color sheme is very attractive. It was assembled by Walmart. All I had to do was adjust the seat (well yeah) and the brakes. The brakes were too tight, but I got them set up in a short time by reading the manual and some adjustments with simple tools and help from my guy. The wheels had a slight wobble but don't hit the brakes and could be adjusted if you wanted to. The shifters worked flawlessly. The seat is fairly narrow, but surpisingly comfortable. The bike is very similar to ones costing twice as much. Great value for the $.

Nice Bike

I purchased this bicycle two weeks ago. I don't know anything about purchasing "the right bike". I've been wanting one since Chicago has all of these great bicycle paths along the lakefront. I like it for the smooth ride and the price was just right for me. The only problem would have been the small seat that comes with it. Since I did some research before purchasing, I ended up buying a gel seat and having a Wal-mart employee replace the small seat with the larger gel seat. So I'm happy with the bike. I hope it has long life.

I ordered this bike for my 14 year old niece. Some of the reviews I read before my purchase indicated that a person who had previously ordered one shipped to his home had received a bike without all the parts. To avoid this, I asked that it be put together at the WalMart site when it arrived. Apparently, I worried for nothing. Everything went smooth as a whistle, and it cost me nothing extra for this service. All employees at the White Knoll, Lexington, SC WalMart were unfailingly helpful. The bike we received is lovely and sturdy. So much so, that my husband and I may order ourselves one apiece after the holidays.

+ the price!!!, index gear shifters, thick mountain tires make very smooth ride without need for suspension, rides fine on grass (if you get off the trail). - had to adjust brake pads, shifters & replace the seat. Handlebar not handy (straight pipe). Brakes effectiveness is less then 'good' as compared to some other bikes I've tried (maybe brake pads are too short). No fenders. = Using it every other day, on paved trails mostly, recreational style, drive about 8 miles at a time. Having it for a month so far. I like it.

Ok, but had to invest a little more money....

I have had the bike for about 2 weeks and have only been on it once! The seat is extremely small and uncomfortable! I will have to buy a different seat before riding it regularly. Also, while my husband was putting it together the inner tubing busted and he had to go out and buy a new one to replace it. Pricing is ok on it, but be prepared that you may have to invest a little more money on it.

a whole lot of trouble for such a cheap bike

When my bike arrived, the box was torn in several places with parts of the frame protruding from the box. This did not seem to cause much damage, but the frame was severely scratched in several places, probably as a result of poor packaging. Because I received my bike by mail it was too big of a hassle to send back, though receiving a damaged good was very frustrating. However, the seat was torn as well so I called the Mt. Fury company asking them to send me a new seat. Unfortunately after a week I received pedals; I have yet to get a new seat. After riding my bike for about a week it started to squeak, and not just occasionally, but every few seconds. I had to bring it to a bike shop to get it fixed, and I found out that the front brake was not working either. This bike was very cheap, but still I did not expect to have so much trouble with it. Also, even though I paid very little to begin with I had to pay more to have it fixed. Considering all the extra time I had to put into this bike, I probably would have chosen to buy another one initially.

Not for trail riding!!

I bought the bike because of the price. But I rode it on our new "rails to trails" and my chain kept falling off every time I shifted the gears!!! I had someone look at it to see if it was just put together wrong, but it wasn't. Just cheaply made. I'm returning it for a better name brand and probably more expensive, but worth it.
