I bought this food about six months ago for my dog and it has already made his hair significantly softer. His hair was a little rough and since then I've noticed it getting softer. I've even had people compliment on how soft his hair is and asked what food I buy.
The whole transition from using Blue Buffalo to Royal Canin was smooth and easy. I have 2 shih tzus and one Pekingese/Japanese chin mix, they all had no problems eating these kibbles and they seem more energetic after eating them. Im happy my purchase! Maxie has a huge tongue that doesn't all fit in his mouth but has tiny teeth and a little bite. The size and shape of the Royal Canin Adult Shih Tzu dry kibble is perfect for him to be able to pick up and chew. It is wonderful to see him not struggle trying to eat and also enjoying his meal. His coat has also improved and is much thicker and luxurious. He is my heart and my heart feels good knowing he is happy and healthy.
Since my dog came home, we used to buy here Royal Canin Shih Tzu for Puppies and then for adults. She is so crafty and picky that we started buying RC Spayed/Neutered and combine it with the Shih Tzu one and she just eat the pellets from the Shih Tzu one.
About 7 years ago while working for a animal supply store, the Royal Canin rep, Dean, convinced me to change what I was feeding my Shih Tzu to this Royal Canin product. It resolved skin issues that Champ was having and helped with his breath. I've fed it to Champ ever since then. Funny thing, Daisy, our Jack Russell loves it too! I got Scooter at 7 1/2 weeks. He started on the Royal Canine mousse then moved on to Shih Tzu puppy and now he is on adult. He loves it and that is saying something for a picky Shih Tzu. Everyone complements his skin and coat, also. I've never had a more perfect dog food.
I have 3 shih tzu's, all girls. They are 4 years old and only eat Royal Canin dog food. They are healthy and doing good. My only question is the bi products in the food. I understand that bi products are chicken beaks, chicken feet and chicken feathers. Is this correct?? That doesn't sound good!! What do the veterinarians think ?
