[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I'll start off by saying I came from a side by side refrigerator from another brand with the same amount of cubic feet. I was not sure what to expect from the layout of this fridge but having had it for about a week now I can say that both my wife and I love it. With the previous fridge It always felt cramped inside, moving food around trying to find what you are looking for. Not with this fridge. This fridge utilizes the entire top part of the unit and makes for easy organization of food and finding things is a breeze now. Gone are the days of taking all the food out and putting it on the counter top to find that one thing you want. The flex zone on this Samsung is a nice addition as well. This area provides an easy way to organize drinks, cheeses, meats, and yogurts. The adjustable and lockable divider is very handy allowing for both back and forth adjustment, as well as side to side. If you happen to have more meats one week than other items, no problem just adjust it to fit. Maybe the next week you need more space for drinks with the warmer days coming on, no problem just adjust the divider for that. They don't call it a flex zone for nothin. One thing that did worry me about switching to this type of fridge layout was the size of the freezer, as it seemed like less space initially. Once we started moving food into it though, we found out we could fit everything needed and that the layout was so much nicer than the side by side. No more pulling everything out to get to what was behind the food in front. The top drawer in the freezer is awesome as well, giving you quick access to smaller items that can be easily organized. I never have to go searching through the whole freezer to find the bacon again. Both the Flex zone drawer and the freezer drawer have self-closing drawer slides as well which is a must have. This fridge also has wireless built in allowing for integration with Samsung SmartThings app. Once setup within the app, I was able to view the fridge status, set temperatures for the refrigerator, freezer, and the flex zone drawer. You can also turn the ice maker on and off from the app as well. The app will also tell you if a door is left open on the unit as well, which can help cut down on energy costs from a child leaving the door open for hours. The app can also tell you about energy usage of the fridge over a day, week, and month long period. All in all we are very happy with our new Samsung fridge and wouldn't change a thing.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] When I got the opportunity to review one of these Samsung refrigerators, I jumped at the chance. Our current fridge is almost 20 years old, and we really wanted to try all of the latest features. First, the stainless steel finish is great. It doesn't leave smudges as much as my older stainless steel appliances. We also like the size of this fridge. It is huge and holds so much stuff! I wasn't quite sure what I would think about the bottom freezer style of this appliance as well as the extra middle drawer. But we love it!!! The middle drawer is great for my daughter's snacks, and cans of soda and other drinks fit perfectly and are kept wonderfully cool. I like being able to adjust the temperature of each section. The main reason we got this refrigerator is the feature of the ice and water in the drawer, especially the crushed ice option. We were NOT disappointed with these features! I love crushed ice, and the ice that is produced from this dispenser is so soft. It almost rivals the nugget ice you can get at restaurants! The only slight negative with the ice is that it takes a while for the ice to get properly crushed. It even sometimes takes a bit to dispense just the regular cubed ice. But the option of crushed ice is worth the wait! We also like that you can lock the water/ice dispenser in order to clean it. The only other slight negative about this fridge is that there is not a lot of door space in the refrigerator section. Some of our larger condiments don't fit too well because of the way we have the shelves situated. This isn't a big deal, though, since there is so much room in the rest of the of fridge. Overall, this was a great purchase for us, and we are enjoying it!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I installed this refrigerator just a week ago. The most impressive feature is the middle drawer which I set up for drinks and fresh fruit. These are the two items this refrigerator needs to be opened for, so I expect a significant savings by not having to open the French doors as often.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bought about a month ago and so happy we upgraded to this refrigerator. It's deeper than the old one, but sits perfectly in the same spot. And it fits a ton more than our old side-by-side. Black stainless looks beautiful too. The controls are easy to get to and use, so you can easily change how you want to use the middle drawer, for instance. This was a great purchase.
The product: The design is perfect. We love the center drawer. Even though it is 2 cf smaller than our other fridge, it feels like it has more space. The ability to control temps from an app is cool... still trying to figure out when we will use that function. The ice maker is small and takes awhile to churn & dump ice. It is easy to remove from the fridge. There is a high pitched sound that bothers me a little but my husband can't hear it. He keeps telling me that I'll get used to it. The delivery: I purchased from Sam's and it appears to be Samsung that manages the delivery through XPO. There was constant & courteous contact and product was received before anticipated date. Every appliance should be delivered through this company!
While the fridge functions well, taking out the shelves for cleaning is extremely challenging. Switching from our previous fridge to the 4-door Samsung fridge post-remodeling was a regrettable decision. Removing the shelves requires screwdrivers and considerable strength. Moreover, replacing the water filter poses its own set of difficulties. Overall, I strongly advise against purchasing this model.
Purchased over a year ago. I have puddles everyday infront due to the ice maker and water. The ice maker gets stuck and I have to push the ice through. The worst problem is that is defrost all the time. Our ice cream is always melted and our milk gallons sweat. Cheese is also always melted. Food does not last and we throw away lots of food. So we buy our food daily. And YES I have contacted Samsung multiple times and they "will call back with service info". I'm now shopping for a new fridge. Waste of money.
I have had this fridge for almost 2 years and the ice dispenser has continuously leaked, ruining my wood floor. Multiple people have slipped on water puddle on floor even though I keep a towel on floor to prevent danger. This is very dangerous and I wish I never bought this fridge. They have sent a company to fix the problem 4 times (!) but it's worse after every 'repair'. The problem is the design and it cannot be fixed. Complete waste of money and i have wasted so many hours on the phone and taking time off trying to schedule repair visits. I deeply regret this purchase---stay away from Samsung fridges. I would be happy to post pictures and video in below space but interestingly it will not allow attachments.
I have only bought 1 Samsung refrigerator and i have many friends who have also and we have all had problems within 5 years. My friends got rid of theirs and we have repaired now twice, trying to save money. I will never buy Samsung refrigerator again. I just want my fridge go stay cold and ice machine to work. Samsung should make things right and refund customers that had a defective refrigerator. Never again.
Spent around 2300 for this fridge. I was sad to see that there was no exterior dispenser light for this fridge even though there is a spot where it was available for older models
