Based on past experiences with Sauder products I was definitely not let down with this bookcase. Sauder has always seemed to carry quality furniture for both the office an home at reasonable prices. It's not made of solid wood, but the wood fibers are compact very tightly together (the reason I originally bought Sauder furniture) making the bookcase capable of withstanding much more use than other similar product brands. I'd recommend this bookcase to anyone looking for quality at a reasonable price.
My husband and I needed some bookshelves to hold his heavy, expensive art books without spending a lot of money. After trying other brands, this was BY FAR the best quality, easiest to set up, and most professional looking. In fact, we're going to go to a few other Walmarts in the area to find 4 or 5 more to line the wall of our home office.
this is the 3rd i've bought from walmart, and only had one that a bit of damage on a corner. it was an easy fix and hid well with a black felt pen. very easy to put together, and very sturdy. if you line up the holes right, and tighten them down correctly, nothing will break. i have 2 shelves stacked on top of each other and looks great!! i'm going back to get the 4th and stack those too!!
This is a great looking bookcase for the price, however it was a bit challenging assembling it, as the screws are at a difficult angle to reach with a normal screwdriver. However if you have an angled screwdriver it shouldn't be a problem. As long as the screws are very tight, the bookcase is very sturdy, doesn't wobble at all, and I like that you can change the shelf height at your leisure. All in all very nice bookcase and I'm very glad I purchased it.
It was quite a hassel to have to wait for the company to resend the pieces that were broken but the over all look is very nice and water resistant. One thing i noticed is that the shelves dont stay in the slide in and out and i think that could be fixed to better the design..
If your looking for a small bookshelf for an apartment, kids room or office, this may be the shelf for you. I bought two, to put on each side of my tv. They look really nice and depending how good you are with putting things together this cheap shelf can be very sturdy.
I enjoy the simple style of these bookshelves. They were very easy to put together. The only problem that I have with them is that you are not able to attach the faceplate to the bottom as the holes do not line up. Otherwise, great product.
This bookcase is usable, however, it is not sturdy. Even though the screws are as tight as they come, the entire case still sways from side to side. It is impossible to get the bookcase to be perpendular to the ground, as it is constantly leaning to one side or the other (left or right). No amount of balancing has helped with this issue. The coloring is nice and it looks pretty, though and it will hold a lot of books, but it just keeps leaning. I don't recommend it. You get what you pay for. Whatever happened to solid wood bookcases?
This product is poorly made. Although it's a simple bookcase, it was difficult to put together. The pre-drilled holes were not properly aligned, the toggle screws were difficult to screw in based on the directions given. I was never able to fut the bookcase together, the particle board started breaking.I reccommend spend a little more money for a better quality product.
I was looking for an inexpensive, small bookshelf to fit in my tiny living room. I saw this at walmart and brought it home. Started to put it together and realized that, even though it says "No tools neccessary" you do infact need tools. I was finishing putting my shelf together and turned it over to attatch the back and the "screws" pulled out of the shelf and broke the MDF. I needed the shelf ASAP and it really didn't help me out because it broke before i even got it put together. Had the shelf been of better quality it would be phenomenal, but a shelf that wont stay together is just no good.
