Very nice unit

I purchased this unit for my 8 year old son. It now houses his laptop and all-in one printer. For it's compact size it has a lot of room to get the job done. It is well engineered and very sturdy. It has a very nice primitive distressed look to it and works well in a country decor, yet in classy enought to be placed in a more modern setting. It contents arrived complete and undamaged. The assembly is a bit time consumming but directions are straight forward and it is well worth the time spent building it. I would recommend this product for anyone who is looking for a mid-sized desk and hutch.

i bought this desk without knowing how it looked or how sturdy it would be because the price was right. it is beautiful if you like the antique look. i put it together myself and eventhough it took me some time it was easy to put together. i would definatly recommend it.

I gave this product 5 stars because for me this is everything I was looking for. I was originally looking for a corner desk with a hutch but every where I looked the prices were too high. I decided to check a local furniture store and saw this desk for about $20 cheaper. After some measurements and visualizing, I knew this was the desk I wanted. However, when I went to place the order, the store informed me that Sauder had discontinued it and the only desk they had left was the floor model. I came home and looked around and found the desk at Walmart. I ordered it and had it sent to the store to save on shipping. My husband and I put it together in about 2 hours and I love it. It fits perfectly and the finish is great. I recommend this desk if you are looking for something on the smaller side with a lot of space to store things.

my husband and I are very pleased with this desk. It was easy for me to essemble (you don't need your husband to do it) and it took only about 2 hours. It looks very high quality for a great price.

There were a few pieces broken when we received the desk but the replacement company sent them out immediately, we couldn't even believe how quickly they got to us. The desk is very nice for the price, is heavy and a good value. I shopped around quite a bit before ordering this desk and have been very happy with my purchase!

I like this desk. It matches the other furniture in the room. It's attractive. It was a little confusing to put together and took about two hours. Lots of parts and pieces. My husband actually broke part of the desk putting it together because when he secured a piece to the back he let go of it and it toppled over ripping the particle board out of the place he had just secured it. It weighed too much to not be held upright and fell over. We had to buy some brackets to help the piece secure and strenthen the desk since this piece broke. I wish the storage space at the top were a little deeper (like two more inches) and that it was also a little higher (like once inch) to accomodate the height of binders. Overall, i am just being picky. I like the desk and would recommend it to a friend.

I purchased this desk along with some other Sauder matching furniture and some of the pieces for this desk were packaged with the other furniture. Once I finally sorted out all the individual parts, during assembly I noticed the desktop was improperly drilled underneath to accept all the cabinetry. I had to measure and redrill all the holes myself. I happen to have furniture building experience, so I managed to get it together, but was very difficult. I'm sure just an isolated manufacturer mistake. Overall very pleased with purchase.

The desk looks great, and has many design details that makes it look a lot more expensive than it really is. The only down side was that one of the moldings was missing from the box. Either than that it was a great buy.

My husband and I recently turned a guest bedroom into a home office, and we chose this to be our new desk - I have to say that overall, I am a little unhappy with the quality of the piece. The first thing I noticed is that the underside of the unassembled pieces are unfinished, which may lead to possible splinters, both during assembly and while using the finished piece. Also, the backing is cardboard, which I wasn't really expecting. The piece took me a total of about three hours to assemble, however, it is NOT a one person job. One of the last steps is to flip the desk over, propping one half on top of magazines so you can nail the cardboard backing into place. If the piece is standing upright before the backing goes on, it may collpase, and since the desk is pretty much together at this point, it would probably hurt landing your toes. When we tried to pick the desk up and move it into place within the room (once fully assembled), the left leg would bow and pop out of place. The room is carpeted, however it seemed unusually difficult for a piece of DIY furniture. I did like that the instructions were very easy to follow, you only needed a hammer and a screwdriver to put it together, and that once in place it seems like it will serve its purpose, but again, I guess I just thought that it would be of a little better quality, or maybe the right word is more solid. I guess you get what you pay for, and for about 200 beans, it isn't terrible. I would not recommend this to anybody who is looking for a piece of furniture that can be easily moved, I think it will fall apart if you try it (so maybe not a good idea for students or apartment dwellers who move frequently) Also, there is really not a lot of desk space once assembled, and I am having a hard time finding a place for my desk lamp...keep this in mind if you desire more surface area.

When my husband started putting the desk together, he found two broken pieces to the desk. The backing was rolled up so it was all warped. I had previously purchased the bookshelf and nightstand by Sauder and I liked them but this desk I was not satisfied at all!!!
