I've never worn much make-up, recently just some concealer all over my face and a slick of mascara. I've been looking for a good BB Cream for some time and when walking around Boots saw this Try It Kit. Lady at the counter was really helpful, especially when I said i'd never used powder before as, although I want to control my oily/combination skin, I was afraid i'd feel it sitting on my face or cake on too much. After being shown how to use it (and given a free sample of the green colour correcting primer too) I bought the kit and... I LOVE IT! The primer smoothes out my face for a perfect base. The BB Cream gives me amazing coverage of my red patches. I use my concealer with it, and it looks great even without the powder. The powder doesn't dry out my skin, and it doesn't feel like it's just sitting there either. I work in a pub and i'm constantly pushing baby hairs out my face and after a 9 hour shift, my make-up has barely moved! All fantastic for travel too. Will buy this again instead of all of them seperately!
I have been using the BB Cream, so I am already a fan. It's nice to now have a travel size. The halo powder is all it says it is: good coverage, blends nicely, perfect colors. It goes on nicely and I surprisingly like the self shaving compact. Using the primer is always a benefit. It helps your foundation go on smoothly.
I've been wanting to try Smashbox Cosmetics for quite awhile and when I seen this "Try It Kit-BB Cream+Halo" I knew this was my chance to give it a try. I must say I wish I had tried it sooner I absolutely love it. With the kit you get: Face Primer, BB Cream, Hydrating Powder & Kabuki Brush. I ordered the light because I've always had fair/light skin tone and I couldn't have made a better choice the light is the perfect color for me. I love how the primer makes my face feel just like silk, I've never tried a primer that compares to it, and when I put the BB Cream and Hydrating Powder on my face is flawless and I'm ready to face the world. I'll be purchasing SMASHBOX Cosmetics for the rest of my life. I love it!!!
I was looking to buy a new powder and I was considering purchasing this halo powder but at $60 bucks a pop i was hesitant. I have the pressed powder which i love because it gives me great coverage for my problem skin.. that said the halo powder is a great product but for me i need more coverage due to acne scars. i think this would better suit someone who has a clear complexion. the camera ready and primer are great! I use them all the time they really help give me a full coverage that doesn't look caked on!
I was in the market for a new summer face routine ... something hassle free but would still give me full coverage with a natural looking finish. I'd tried a sample size of the Smashbox face primer & I really liked it so when I stumbled upon this kit I decided to give it a try & I'm so glad I did bc not only did everything match my skintone perfectly but the combination of the face primer to fill my pores & fine lines, the BB cream that feels so light but provided a nice medium coverage & the Halo powder to pull it all together, get rid of shine & provide that last little bit of coverage I was looking for I'm totally hooked! I haven't used liquid foundation since & I'm planning on re purchasing everything in the full size to take me thru the rest of summer, fall & winter. This set gives u a natural finish while still providing the level of coverage I was looking for but didn't expect from a BB cream. I've gotten so many compliments on my skin bc it looks like I have nothing on my face. I just look radiant & natural & I love it! I found my new go-to, holy grail products for a quick morning face routine!
I love th is Smashbox Halo + BB ! I originally bought this product as an introduction to the Smashbox line. When I ordered the full size products I gave my travel sizes to my daughter who also loves them. the travel sizes are a must for anyones purse.
Lovely great products, would buy full size. However ran out of powder after just a couple of applications although I thought it was great would have loved to give it another try before decided to buy full size! But that's just me. Would definitely recommend trying out these products.
I've been using Estee Lauders BB cream, but thought I'd try Smashbox's since it's been getting good reviews. The consistency is thinner then I expected and wish it were thicker. That would give it more coverage power. I don't know if I'll purchase the BB cream again. I do like the primer and Halo. The Halo really does act as a foundation setting powder, but also as a foundation. I love the applicator. There is no waste. Love it!
For the price this is a good buy. For me the fair was way too light. The Halo powder however is just perfect. It lasts forever. I don't like the regular primer. It says it isn't greasy & oil free but I find it to be greasy & to me it smells like motor oil. I suppose it's petroleum based. For this kit I only liked the powder. The compact is small though & powder still gets everywhere & you can't see the mirror because it's covered in powder dust. I dump it in a tray then use it. I don't use the brush. I keep it in my purse just in case but I don't use it.
I love the bb cream but the product was so small! I don't like the primer feels so weird on my skin also tiny! The whole reason I bought this kit was for the powder which I love!!!!!! The powder was expense and I wasn't sure I would like it but I wish I would of just bought the bigger one instead of this kit. But I would buy this if you want to try these products cuz it is just a sample kit. Don't expect to use it very much great for a tiny makeup bag for on the go! I would buy these products full size except the primer.
