Not sure the longer handle really helps much. I tend to choke my grip up close on the handle to the blade. Brass is softer than glass, so no scratches. Had one for many years, but it broke at the handle. The brass blade works far better than the plastic scrapers to remove frost and ice. You can scrape over and over with a plastic scraper, but this will take off the frost or ice in one pass. There are some with no handle, but I didn't want the frost or ice getting on my hands, or on my gloves. Will buy another from my 2nd car.

It has not been cold here and we have not had frost on the windows but I decided to purchase the scraper just in case. A few days ago, we had a freeze overnight and in the morning, the scraper made short work of clearing the windshield and windows of the vehicle. I would highly recommend this scraper to anyone who wants to have a reliable tool for clearing their windshield and windows!
Ice scrapers used to always come the brass scraping surfaces. I've been looking high and low for one. I bought 6 at this price. 3 for me and 3 for gifts.
I had very little faith in this ice scraper when seen on this site. But at the listed price why not try it. The Very Best effective, efficient, useful ice scraper I've ever use. The other all plastic ones with morning frost and/or thin ice glazing on windows just typically create lines while scraping. This due to flat wide angling removes the entire pass over of the blade. Super good. Will buy more for other vehicles.
Worked great on the freezing rain that happened during the night, first scraper I've had since the 70's that worked the entire width of the blade!! I highly recommend it!!
We love these kinds of scrapers! I prefer the smaller sized ones though. I was surprised how large these were But they work fine. We need these in Nebraska! I'm giving them to my coworkers as a small Christmas gift!
Smoothly removes a full blade-width of ice on windshield. Does a MUCH better job than my old plastic scraper.
This is better than a plastic one to scrape off hard ice on your car windows. If you have fluffy snow and its not stuck; then use a broom or your hand.
I bought 3 of these at the same time. When I received them, all three had blades which were substantially bent on one end. I've used one of them and imagine that they would work well if not damaged.
