The British-made Supermarine Spitfire is undoubtedly one of the most celebrated fighter and photoreconnaissance aircraft during World War II. Well-loved by its pilots, this fighting machine made its first flight on March 1936 and was primarily used by the Royal Air Force (RAF). The Mk V variant was produced in 1941 based on the blueprints of the Mk III. The Mk Vs had the Fighter (F) and Low Level Fighter (LF) designations and had different Merlin engines installed in them. Of all the Spitfire variants, the Mk V was the only was used extensively outside of Britain. Since its first international deployment in Malta, the Mk V played a role in the North African and Far East theaters. This handcrafted model is painted in the same paint scheme as the original and is painstakingly built from Philippine mahogany by our skilled craftsmen.
