This was purchased and then I added the the square names for my grandaughter as she is 7 yars old and has joined a chess club at her school and this was what she wanted. the reason for this board above the others was the storage of the pieces was with the board instead of in a seperate sac.
The pieces are magnetic which is great to keep them from sliding around. Also, like the drawers that store the pieces when not in use or transporting the chess board.

This chess set is overal a good set with the value. it was as expected from the Ad on web. the set has magnetics on the box as well as on each features, so you can move you chess set without mess it up. the drawer is little stiff, but ok to open. Recommend this set if you are on budget.
We bought this as a gift for our 13 year old son who is starting out in the chess world. This is a nice board, with pieces that are made with decent quality. The product is true to the dimensions noted in the description, so if you're NOT looking for a small, portable set, keep shopping. The only negative I found was that the drawers seem to need to be opened at the same time. We couldn't get one to open at a time and they don't open very smoothly.
Arrived with corners mashed in, shipping damage most likely. Magnetized playing board is nice but otherwise the pictures look better than the final product. Pay attention to dimensions, photos make it appear larger than it really is.
The chess pieces are small, (child's size) and the bottom felt is not even on all sides, but the magnet works to keep them upright. Without a magnet the tiny pieces are so light, (no weight to them) they would fall over. The chess drawer does not open on each side like you might think? It only opens when you pull both sides open at the same time, evenly, etc... Having felt the pieces, (their size) and the cabinet drawers I never would have bought it. I would spend a little more money and buy a better set. It just looks better than it is. Sorry... just how i feel.
This arrived in a thin box, which corners were dented. The chess set had dented corners, scuffed top, and the drawers were sticking and barely could get open. I returned this item right away!
This is a well made chess set. It's smaller than I anticipated ... making it great for car travel as the chess pieces are magnetic and don't move unless you pick them up. I'm using the set at home with my niece. It works well for us.
