I needed to upgrade when my galaxy s5 had a charging port problem after owning it for 2.5 years. I found that Best Buy had a sale and decided to stay with galaxy. I love this phone! While it was an easy transition from the s5, I love the new features such as the themes to customize your background/lockscreen. The battery life is very good. I keep my phone in a wallet case and I feel this gives it enough protection. I love the infinity screen and the camera features. Recently, I learned that the shutter button can be dragged to a different location on the screen. Bixby can be disabled so if you're not interested in using this feature (like myself) . There are a few YouTube videos that can show you hidden features on the s9 and s9+.

I've heard of many suggestions, some make sense, some don't. I will type this with a real review. I've owed many phones. This s9, not even the plus, is the BEST phone I've ever used. The screen is a vision of beauty. The sound is crisp, clear and the best sounding Galaxy ever. I had my doubts after hearing some people complain. The majority report moved me to try this device. The abundance of features offered by Samsung is truly amazing. They have listened to their customers, and delivered. Battery life....very fast charging. Phone call quality is way better than any phone I've used. Everyone I speak to can hear me perfectly clear. Quality is the final point. This phone is built to last, a beautiful and performing device.

I know a lot of people will talk about decreased sales numbers due to the minimal upgrades over the Galaxy S8. If you're asking yourself if it's worth upgrading from an S8 to an S9.... the answer is yes!! The physical features may have been minimal compared to the S8, but almost everything else internally is so much better. Apps open faster, the camera takes infinitely better pictures, and the multitasking is so much easier than before. One of the few physical features they did update was the fingerprint scanner, and it is in a much better place. You're much less likely to keep touching your camera lens searching for the scanner. This phone is definitely worth a look.

I've tried multiple phones...iphone 7 plus, note 8, etc...all were too big to be functional. This phone has everything those phones do but in a smaller package. Bold, beautiful screen...plenty of power and battery...but fits in your hand great. It's thin and light. Awesome job Samsung!!!

I am really enjoying this phone. Android is Android, but the features that this phone has to offer are awesome. The camera is amazing and all the options in it are really cool. The phone is really slick without a case, so i did purchase one. It is smaller than the iPhone 7+ but it has a bigger screen which is neat.l

Overall - Nice phone. Miss the flat Screen

Just bought this phone about a week ago. It's a shame that Samsung went exclusively with the Edge screen, as the traditional flat screen was preferred by most users. The Edge Screen makes this phone very sensitive to touch. Even disabling the Edge options does not help. The camera resolution is awesome and the ability to delete unwanted applications is critical. The phone size was a critical decision factor for its selection. It's about 1/2" longer then my Galaxy S6. I wish Samsung had supplied a Micro-USB to USB-C connector like they did with the Galaxy S8, however, for $ 10 I found them at a local computer store. If you're a traditional flag screen phone user, I would not recommend this phone. If you are a Samsung product owner and like new features, try it out.

I have owned 2 previously galaxy phones, the S5 and the S7. I was very excited to upgrade to the S9 and have been overall pleased with it. It is sleek, with high definition, fast, great storage capacity, and clear well-built speakers. However there are 2 major drawbacks (at this time). Currently there is no way to set individual contact message tones. A feature that was available on both my previous galaxy models. It is important to me (and MANY others based off my googling) to be able to distinguish who is sending me messages without having to go to my phone and read them immediately. Secondly, and this to me is worse, the new app badges are a complete fail and waste. If I get notifications from Facebook or text messages or notifications from any app and I swipe away the notification from my lock screen (I do not like a cluttered screen) it will erase the numbered badge over that specific apps icon. There is no way for me to know when I have unread text messages or app messages unless I go into every app and look to make sure. All previous models kept the number over the icon to show you had unread messages. This is a huge flaw and is extremely irritating. Both of these need to be corrected immediately with updates because even with all of the S9's great positive features these are 2 major features I loved about my previous phones. There is no reason for me to get this phone if I cant even do the simple things I was able to to on my older models. It's supposed to be the best technology to offer, but they took away things that make it great..... Correct this mistake Samsung!

I upgraded recently from a S5 and while the bigger memory and faster speed are great the rest of the phone is a big disappointment. It was very easy to use Quckconnect on the S5 for screenmirroring to my older Panasonic tv. However, quick connect is gone and smartthings replaced it. Smartthings sometimes connects with my smaller Samsung Smart tv (and sometimes it doesn't- the s5 connects no problem and connects it no problem) but then it only lets me do screenmirroring and cannot control the tv itself or the smarthub. Its a waste of time. Likewise, it does not seem to connect to my roku stick- sometimes it finds it sometimes it doesn't but never connects- on my larger oder tv in the living room so wast of time there also. Its fine of they want to push the smarthings if they think it wil be great one day but I'd prefer to still use the old apps that actually worked on my older s5 such as the quickconnect and peel remote. Bixby is a fiasco. Overall, a big disappointment. I was going to buy a Pixel but it was on back order. I wish I had waited.

Fast CPU. Curved screen is annoying, camera poor

I like the speed of the CPU and the memory to be able to handle multiple applications. I was initially concerned about the curved screen and I should have paid closer attention. I have a number of apps that use the full screen including controls. These apps are difficult to use because the curved edge makes it difficult to select a button near the edge. When text goes edge to edge like in email or calendar it is distorted and difficult to read. Resizing is not possible. Rotating works in some apps but not all. The curved screen makes it difficult to hold the phone without either accidentally selecting something or dropping it. In simply picking up the phone my fingers touch the curved edge and it starts up either music, camera, or calculator. Yes, I have a phone case to protect it and give a grip. Yes, I have a screen protector. Yes, I have chipped the edge in several spots because the curved glass is the first thing to hit anything hard. Camera is disappointing in quality and has a mind of its own. Perpetually goes into "selfie" mode when I want and leave it at Pro mode. I have lost the chance for a number of photos because of this. Images are over sharpened and over compressed (areas are "blocky") even after changing the settings. Only decent exposures are in full sun (which makes for mediocre photos...harsh shadows and squinting faces do not make for good photos)
