This humidifier puts out a good amount of moisture on the highest setting, and it offers other settings. It works well--not too loud.
I bought this humidifier for the living room and liked it so much I bought another one for the bedrooms. They really help with the dryness in the whole house. I would also like to enter the sweepstakes.
I have used every type of humidifier. Sonic ones leaves white dust everywhere. Centrifugal is wet and noisy. Wish it could be filled in place. In the picture it looks like the top comes off for filling. Not so. You have to take it to a water source. It is easy to take apart and cleaned. I like it and give it 5 stars.
I started a subscription for filters for my new humidifier. This is the best humidifier I've ever owned. I'll never buy another humidifier except from Vornado. This is the quality I've been looking for in a humidifier for years!
I own two Vornado Evap 40 humidifiers that are sold with 1" thick MD1-0034 filters. I began using the MD1-0001 filters which are 1-1/2" thick. They fit perfectly and, in my opinion, actually work better. Because they are thicker, they seem to wick more water than the 0034s keeping the humidity level a little higher.
It's hard to go wrong with a standard part, but overall we've been pleased with the device itself. Wal-Mart provides the best price for the standard filters.
I order the MD1-0001 Humidifier Wick (2-Pack) on a subscription basis, just for the coldest months of the winter, and I always have replacements on hand when I need them. The filters are quality and I save by getting free shipping with the subscription.
We use the humidifier in our modest home. We run it from November thru March every winter. We just believe it is better for our health to have some humidity in the home.

It worked great at first. Had at 60%. After 2 months ordered filters. Been little over 1 month for second set of filters and the moistures is not in the air as before. Runs constantly but water in the tanks aren't emptying like before?.
