Great and sharpens to a great point
I teach second grade. This was my 3rd electric pencil sharpener. The first one I bought at the beginning of the year, spending more than I wanted to spend! It was recommended for teachers and school use. It didn't make it to the holidays! The iPoint Curve, I bought on a whim, since it was on sale! It works wonderfully!! The kids can use it easily. They are able to empty the shavings easily. Best of all, it has held up to all their sharpening of regular pencils and colored pencils. It has not slowed down a bit! Best purchase ever!
This was a perfect match for my classroom! It is quiet, sharpens quickly, and is child-friendly!
As a 4th grade teacher we go through A LOT of pencils. This sharpener is easy to use, sharpens to a point, and easy on the pocketbook. I will definitely recommend this to other teachers.
I have found that this is an excellent and powerful sharpener and it was well priced and affordable.
My grandson really likes it. Even the 5 yr old prefers it to the battery operated ones. Patrice
I got this a week ago. I have used it several times, it is fast and sharpens pencils to a nice point.
I like the quality of sharpening that this little guy gives but it moves to much when you insert the pencil. In fact, I have to use two hands so it won't just get push off the desk. Best one I have seen is a vertical opening so you just insert the pencil downward and thus it is always supported.
After a couple of years it only sharpens one side of pencil. Even after making sure it is free of debris.
We paid $30+ for an electric sharpener, thinking that it would work better and last us a lot longer than one of the battery powered ones, but apparently not. I loved it when we first got it-- it wasn't too loud, didn't scare my son, and he could actually sharpen pencils.. though I did have to hold it while he sharpened them, because otherwise it would move around.. I could live with that. But I went to sharpen a couple pencils today so he could do his homework, and after the first pencil it stopped sharpening. Like it wouldn't get a grab on the pencil at all. So disappointing. My parents had an electric pencil sharpener when I was a kid and they still have the same one-- three kids and many many years later- it still works! This one didn't even make a full school year for one child.
