This wonderful TV console looks so good in our living room. It makes a very attractive stand for our 65" television set yet it hugs the wall and takes up very little frontal space. The dark glass shelves and the brown cherry frame along with golden-colored trim gives this console a warm yet very modern motif. On the spine, in the rear of the console, there is a place where you can wind unsightly electrical cords so they will be out of site. I am so happy we invested in this TV console. Assembly was fairly easy and when it was completely assembled, it transformed into a perfect stand for a large, flat screen TV set with plenty of space to put DVD players or other electronic devices.
This item is built very well and does not look cheap by any means. As a matter of fact it is a real showpiece. Would like to purchase a back brace with it but it really is not necessary. So happy I purchased this as it is a real showpiece. Also the Hayneedle customer support on this product is excellent.
fits my 70 inches 4K tv like a charm .... wish the with about 5 inches longer .... but over all the shipping was fast .....installation is easy with extra hardware..... look stunning and modernize.... u can not find any better stand with this price ......
I looked and shopped for over two months for TV Stands. This one really caught my eye every time. Very easy to put together, ( 1 hour by myself) more than enough screws and washers, and set up it really looks expensive. Since I purchased it and put it together, two of my friends have bought one. The value and price cannot be beat!!
I bought this stand to hold a 70" tv I had recently purchased. Since I usually only buy more elaborate tv stands, I found this stand really light weight. It was simple and easy to put together, and I assembled it by myself in 30-40 minutes or so. I also found it surprisingly big enough to hold all my various game systems with ease. In assembling the stand I only found one side arm that simply wouldn't tighten properly, but it seems to be doing fine. Overall, it's a great tv stand, big enough to hold most of your devices or consoles, and it was all at a great price. Definitely beats the one I was comapring it to at $500...this one's a good deal.
I bought this stand to support a newly purchased 70" Flat Panel TV due to its relatively low price ($139) for stands of this size and TV weight/size support capacity, coupled with its attractiveness. The assembly instructions were pretty straightforward, but 2 of the fasteners for 2 support brackets for the top (of 3) shelves were too short. I ended up going to a local hardware store to buy 2 longer fasteners. Additionally, I had to open up one of the holes where suction cups are inserted to hold the glass shelves in place. The hole had not been punched or drilled out completely. Simple Dremel tool cleaned it out in 10 minutes. Lastly, I strongly recommend having 2 persons place the glass shelves in place onto the suction cups (8 per shelf) for proper alignment. Once the shelf is in place, it's tough to adjust. Not a complaint, just a recommendation. The stand itself is attractive and the shelves spacious. Our ~75 lb. TV seems to be supported fine. BTW, the top shelf has much more weight capacity than the middle and bottom shelves but they're fine for cable boxes etc. I think the top shelf has a 130 lb. capacity. So far we're pretty happy with the purchase although the assembly process had a few very minor glitches.
It looks very nice when assembled. It is as easy to assemble as IKEA furniture, but the materials look somewhat better. It is very wide and can easily have three 17" or 19" components side by side at each level, but it is NOT that deep. For example, my receiver is a Yamaha RX-V2500, which I wanted to put in the middle since all wires must go there. The middle tier was not deep enough for that receiver, especially with the bracket that reinforces the upper tier, so I had to put that receiver in the middle of the lower tier. Another problem is that the lower tier, which is the deepest, also had to take the other deep and heavy components; a NAD power amplifier and an big old Teac cassette deck. The lower tier has no leg in the middle, so the metal frame was sagging more than one inch. (Somehow, the glass did not break, for which I am grateful.) This was easily solved inserting a little piece of wood below the center of the lower tier. Does not look that good, but for $140 I cannot complain, this is still good value. (I will spray paint the wood and will not be very visible, will look like another leg.) The middle tier ended up having the lighter components, which are the old VHS, the not so old but obsolete DVD HD, and the new 3D Blue Ray. The upper tier, which is the widest but less deep of the three, worked very nicely for a 25" wide center speaker (Boston Acoustics VR12) and still left plenty of room for an old Technics turntable on one side and the cable box on the other side. Another caveat, if you plan to use a big TV on the top tier, it will take the weight but maybe not the depth. I mounted a new 60" plasma TV on the wall, which weighs only 65 pounds, half the load capacity of the top tier. But the included TV stand has it legs apart from front to right about the same as the depth of the top tier, so it would have been too dangerous to put this TV on this piece of furniture. (It looked like the TV was doing a high-wire act.) I strongly recommend NOT to put a big TV on top of it, instead mount it on the wall or buy a version of this furniture with its own mount. Fortunately for me, the top tier had the exact height to align the center speaker tweeter with the main speakers tweeters (Boston Acoustics VR40), so I bought a wall mount for the TV from the beginning. This furniture is not perfect, I saw nicer alternatives but at least twice more expensive. At this price point, both IKEA and WalMart do offer some alternatives, but none of them nicer. Great value anyway.
I put this thing together in 15 minutes, it was very easy. It took two people to put the glass straight on the suction cups though. It's a sharp looking stand. My 70 inch Bravia barely fits on this stand though... There is plenty of room for all of the accessories on the shelves though.
I saw this stand online and was looking for something to put a 70" LED TV on. This is a very nice looking TV stand that has plenty of room for all of your Home Entertainment equipment It was fairly easy to put together except when it came to mounting the glass shelves. I had to have my son assist me with them. The glass is held on by suction cups and you have to put each down right the first time. Otherwise, it's a real pain to reposition. The only CON I have for this stand is the suction cups. They give it almost a cheap feeling... even though you can't really see them once the tempered/colored glass is mounted. Overall, I like this stand very much and feel it's well worth the money spent.
The final product looks great in my living room. BUT... 1) It included only half the hardware we needed to accomplish the project and it took 10 days to get another set of hardware. 2) The wooden arms are EXTREMELY fragile. We touched the end of one with a box and damaged the wood. 3) The packaging was enough to make me never want to buy another Whalen product. Instead of the easy-to-use molded foam that most folks use these days, this product was packaged with layers of friable foam. There are foam particles all over my house and probably will be for another month!
