i bought this for my son for his birthday and I like that he was able to hook it up and easily get started using it , he enjoys it its very easy-to-use
If you want to buy this i am going to give you some advice and description 1. the keys are really good but if you have big fingers you might press 2 2. this midi is really help ful when making beats 3. the chord sometimes come off or gets loose 4. you can change the lights of the pads but only w/ a pc or a microsoft laptop or any otherdevice that open files as app 5.really light not that heay 6. hard material i droppedit more than once and still looks new 7.it does connect to a phone but you jave to add an extention. Some studios online that i use and apps are Soundation.com , Soundtrap.com , Bandlab , Fl Studio. these dont have a problem witht the midi also on band lab when you connect it go to the setting at the top and click midi device and click on your mido keyboard. If you are a MacBook user please read this or you will be scratching your head for a little while when you plug it in. Once you have downloaded device software, plugged it in, and boot up GarageBand, just start playing the device. You don’t have to fool around with the midi settings since the panda mini seems optimized for Mac. At least GarageBand anyways. Just plug and play really. As far as everything else, it’s a pretty good product for the price all in all. That said the keys seem to be pitched down half a step in bite value for some reason. So what should be a C natural is a B, what should be C# or Db, seems to be a C. Also make sure to turn the sensitivity up on your DAW as it seems to need too much force on regular settings However this controller works great and I recommend it for beginners to midi controllers like me.
Felt cheap and it was not plug n play. Had to do tuning with the strength n velocity of the notes. I found that setting the key input to a fixed value ie:75 then no matter how soft or hard you presss it will play it consistently. Otherwise it was a huge pain in the but cuz it wont work properly without doing those changes in the software. Keys GET STUCK!!! SUPER ANNOYING. Wish there was more pad options to adjust. Overall its ok for those who know how to use it. But not what i expected. Just felt like it was underwhelming and cheap for a child to play around with, not for pro music sound production.
