the pulse monitor was not the reason we bought it for but i considered it would be an added bonus, however the wiring was incomplete and so the pulse monitor did not work. we are not returning because it is what we wanted, just that i read other reviews and i am not the only one with this same problem. would consider having some one pay a house visit to fix the problem here, but i know that wont' happen. again it suits the purpose for which it was bought.

After assembling the treadmill I noticed the rear roller was not turning smoothly. I adjusted the belt as directed by the instruction manual. This did not improve the performance. I figured it was just new and required use to allow the roller to seat correctly. I asked my wife walk on it for several minutes. After about a minute the rear roller locked completely. I was able to get it to turn after using my hands to directly manipulate the roller. After this it did turn but, the roller creaked internally. I spent 40 minutes attempting to see if I could find the problem. I deduced that the bearings were not properly seated or several of them had flat spots on them. I purchased this product for my mother who is in her 80s. I decided it was not worth the risk to her to have her use this product. I returned it to my local store for a full refund.

Great heavy duty machine that was easy to assemble and performs as expected. Really don't need a motor, just set the incline level and start walking. It goes as fast as you want to walk. I saw other similar sets when I looked on Walmart's web site but chose this one because it weighed a little bit more. Weight equals stability and this unit is very stable. Seems like the weight if the machine would make it cost more because of all the steel. Very pleased so far and would recommend.

It has worked as expected. The only additional features I would have liked are more incline positions (to be flatter) and a tension adjuster to slow the speed.

Delivered quickly after online order. Put together easily. Machine is decently built for the price. After assembly, we walked, or tried to walk on it for sometime. Took apart and returned to local store. Customer service easily refunded money. Very hard to walk on. Very "jerky" in the motion, sticky almost at times. The belt was well lubed from factory, so that wasn't the problem. Buy one with a motor, these are no good if your looking for the treadmill experience.
