KitchenAid® Custom Pour Over Coffee Brewer, Contour Silver (KCM0802CU)

Getting One STAR just because of the nice look! After reading lots of good and bad reviews, I decided to purchase the KitchenAid KCM0802CU coffeemaker to replace my 10 year old KitchenAid 14 cup coffeemaker. Well, the look was beautiful, but the coffee, NOT. 1st attempt: After initial setup and filling up the water tank, I used recommended ground coffee spoon to make 2 cups of coffee and pressed the BREW button. What I got was 1 one and a quarter cup watery coffee. 2nd attempt: I added another spoon ground coffee. (3 spoons). Result was darker, but again one and a quarter cup of coffee 3rd attempt: I selected 3 cups, 4 spoons ground coffee, result was One and a half cup of good tasting coffee. I assume in order to get 2 cups of coffee, you need to select 4 cups from the menu. That being said, Technically it is impossible get 8 cups of coffee, because you need to select 11 cups from the menu, which does not exist. I spoke with the KitchenAid support and the admitted that some of the water is absorbed at the ground coffee filter and stays there! I do not recommend this fancy coffee make and I will return it.

I have not been able to make a good cup of coffee in a coffee pot for years until now! I decided to try this. I grind fresh beans which I've done before, and the flavor is amazing. I'm a picky coffee drinker so if I buy fresh good whole bean coffee, I want it to taste good and finally, it tastes great! Outside of using a french press or pour over, I was never able to get my coffee to taste good in a coffee maker. This coffee is very hot once it's ready and I'm finally excited I can get great tasting coffee out of a whole coffee pot! I was losing patience having to boil water and manually get one cup of good coffee from a french press or pour over. This is like a pour over, but you can push a button, shower, and have it ready, hot and delicious. Highly recomend. You can use your favorite bean and not waste money as the coffee turns out great instead of horrible as I've experienced with other coffee pots.

This coffee maker was a little pricey and I was hesitant to purchase because of it. However I couldn't be happier. This unit is well made, looks good and makes the best coffee from any home coffee maker I have ever had. I takes a few minutes longer to brew than my other home coffee machines but well worth the wait.

Makes excellent tasting coffee that is easy and simple to use. Beautiful design that looks great on the counter. It's well made with quality materials. Coffee is hot and the machine enhances to flavor of the beans. Perfect coffee maker and well worth the price.

This is the second unit. The electronics on the first one went crazy after 3 weeks. This one works fine. Ideal temperature for brewing is 195-205 and this is supposed to do that but it about 185. A lot of money for a good but not great coffee brewer.
