Fisher-Price Think & Learn Spell & Speak Sea Turtle

I really like taking this with to my older sons football games and when I need to keep my 4 year old busy. He can play with this mostly on his own. The rhyming is hard for him so he usually tries a few then does something else. My 7 year old likes to help him sometimes which is really fun thst they can do it together. My son has played with this for the past few weeks and enjoys all the different games and learning modes on this turtle. From learning letters to rhyming games, this has provided many opportunities for learning and fun in an interesting and entertaining manner. My kids really have fun playing with this turtle. I like the choice of colors used, the overall layout of the buttons, the turtle's voice is pleasing and there are several different modes to choose from. One of my favorite features is that the turtle directs my kids to get up and do things, like craw around like a fox. There are different learning games that my kid will play, from pressing a button and turtle will say what a word starts with and then after a few times ask for the word that starts with a specific letter, or rhyming games. I gave this 4 stars instead of 5 because of two main reasons; one - there is no volume control that I can find. Two - though it does help with letters and spelling, I feel that takes a back seat to other interactive games offered on the turtle. Like pressing the screen for a specific color, or pressing the fins quickly to achieve a goal. Overall it is a fun beginning teaching tool. I personally would pick this for my child to play with over something with a screen like a tablet to help develop beginning spelling and letter recognition.
