Ordered this for my 4 year old based on the product age category, and she LOVES it! Hanging the aliens also help s with her fine motor skills and problem solving. Having 2 different ways to play also makes it a game we can play with my 8 and 7 year old to help reinforce their math skills. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
I received this game to review for my 5yo daughter. The age says it is for the ages of 3 to 6, but I think it is more easily played by an older age range, such as 5-8. My 8yo son played the game with my daughter. The first round was done at level one and my daughter enjoyed linking the aliens together to add more weight to her side of the spaceship. She actually won that round. I think a younger age might not be able to link the aliens together successfully. With my assistance, we were able to play level 2, which involves basic addition. I loved this level because it made my son practice basic math skills while playing a fun game. I really like this game and my children both loved trying to win in order to blast the ship off. Great, great game. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because I don't think the suggested age range is the best. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
We got this game to help our daughter with her numbers. The game has two "levels" - one is an introductory version (which we played) and one is slightly more advanced, where you have to use addition and subtraction to figure out the pieces to add (our 5-year-old would not have gotten it). At first we found the game to be a bit complicated for young children, but the more we played, the more fun we have. You have a spinner that gives you the options to pick up an alien in one of three colors, based on where you land, or you can land on adding any piece that you like or having to take off one piece. The most fun one was the skull and bones - that meant you could take a piece off the other player's side and add it to yours. Whoever had the spaceship leaning in its direction at the end won. And my daughter loved hitting the "Blast Off" button at the end to knock all the alien pieces off. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
I got this to try with my 5 year old who is gonna be going into Kindergarten. She absolutely loved this game. It was great in helping her with addition and subtraction. And it did it in such a fun way. I highly recommend this game to any little one having issues with math. Thank you!!! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
Our preschooler enjoys both the game itself and playing freely with the cute rocket ship and aliens. The instructions for the game are a little tricky, but we got the hang of play quickly, and it's a ton of fun, which is the most important part! Aliens don't throw the ship out of balance too quickly, which meant play moved at an enjoyable pace for this age group - not too short, but not too long.
