I concur with previous reviewer's issues, but we also have major problems with it actually scanning colors correctly. My daughter will scan green and it will say brown, or pink and it says blue, etc. I feel like the color scanner isn't that great, you have to make sure that the room is lit perfectly and that you are not standing in front of the light casting a shadow to make it work semi correct. My daughter really wants to love this toy, but often runs up mad because she knows the colors are wrong, like in the game mode trying to find green, she is definitely scanning green, but it saying nope try again. I love Fisher Price and I love the concept of this toy but it needs to have a programming overhaul. I am embarrassed that I purchased this for a gift before getting one myself.

**I received this product for free in exchange for writing my review** While my 4-year old son was only interested in it for a few days (he's known is colors since he was 2-years old) it is still a very awesome learning tool! The chameleon can recognize colors fairly easily, however my husband and I both noticed that it had a hard time distinguishing the colors gray and yellow on numerous surfaces & materials. The game setting is pretty fun and helps kids to take more notice of colors in their surrounding. My son did enjoy running around the house trying to scan various items to match the colors it requested. I think for the "early scholars" out there that a smaller version would be nice as this chameleon is rather large and wouldn't be easy for a 2-year old to use. I am excited to see what the future holds for the next generation of these types of educational toys. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

This is one of the coolest toys for learning and reinforcing colors. The chameleon not only comes with his own color splashes that he can read the color of, but can read the colors of tons of things around your house. He isn't perfect, he does get some wrong and cannot tell the color of everything, but overall it is loads of fun. There are several different games that you can play with him too. My kids like to find the color the chameleon tells you to find. There is also an app for your phone/tablet that you can get for this too. I haven't looked too much into the app but the little but that I have was fun. The voice on the chameleon is pleasant and a good volume, but you cannot adjust the volume. The button to scan the color is easy to press and this toy is very easy to use. I would definitely recommend it to other parents or anyone looking to give a cool gift that is a fun way to teach colors and more. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

I received this product in exchange for my honest opinion. I have a 4 year old and an almost 2 year old. Both kids enjoy playing with this chameleon. My 4 year old obviously knows her colors but she liked the game mode where you have to mimick the color sequence. My almost 2 year old will use this more as practice for learning colors. I was pleased to discover it can also teach them how to count to 10. Overall it is a great toy and I would recommend highly for the 2-3 age group especially!
