AT&T Z998 - 4G smartphone - RAM 512 MB / Internal Memory 2 GB - microSD slot - LCD display - 4.5" - 960 x 540 pixels - rear camera 5 MP - AT&T with GoPhone

I wanted a smartphone but did not want to pay a lot of money and I am VERY pleased with this phone! It has a large screen which makes it nice to watch videos and text. I don't have to keep deleting my texts and retyping like with my previous smartphone because the screen size allows for a bigger keyboard. Its fast and easy to browse the internet. I don't have a data package, I just connect to my WiFi at home or in public WiFi hot spots where it's offered. I love not having to pay for a monthly service when I can pay only $50 a month and have unlimited talk and text and not have to worry about extra charges on my phone bill. My old go phone had a larger sim but it took a very short phone call to customer service to get it transferred to the new smaller sim that came with the phone. I am glad I didn't go with a more expensive phone when this one has all the features I need and more! I highly recommend this phone! It is well worth the money!

Because I'm new to smartphones I needed quite a lot of support. The AT&T store near me has been very supportive, but you'll have to wait a bit. They no longer offer appointments. I had a lot of difficulty just activating, but the AT&T rep helped me by phone. At one point she told me she would call me back in an hour, and she did! I'm a little disappointed that I have to use my reading glasses. I'd hoped the 4.5 screen would offer increased visibility. There are some screens where you can adjust the font, and some you can't- ie. the home screen. (But this may be true of all phones). I am hard of hearing and the volume is terrific. There's a setting for hearing aids. I was disappointed that there is no reminder sound upon having a voice message. But I found an app that solves that problem. So all and all I'm quite pleased with my purchase. I also, bought Walmart's extended warranty. For the money you can't beat it.

This phone is a great value and has good features. The camera at night is bad. Also...the phone goes into AIRPLANE MODE for no reason at all...when I'm talking or it's just sitting on the counter! AT&T doesn't know why this happens, as I went to the store and told them the issue. They think it might be defective & to keep an eye on it & replace it if it keeps happening. This is my only means of communication and it going into Airplane Mode is dangerous as my alarm for my house is linked to this phone!!! I like having a GOPHONE as the price for service is great!

Its a good phone so far as it does work. The keyboard is too small. The message center is not good. There is no inbox or outbox that you can check. Just threads. So you can't find any one specific message if you need to. I guess its OK for a beginner but parts of it are a great pain!

I have only had this phone for a week and a half, but so far I love it. Living in a rural area, I was worried about getting reception in my house. I may only get one bar in places inside, but I still have good reception and can hear the other person very well. I wish I had bought this long before...
