Black and Decker 36V Cordless Self Propelled Mower

I've used my new mower three times. My yard is a little more than 1/4 an acre and I still have 1/3 battery power left when I'm finished. I am a woman and the mower isn't too heavy to push or pull when the self propel isn't being used. I have a few very steep hills to mow. I noticed that when you self propel up the hill and then release the self propel, that the rear wheels won't roll back on you. Good safety feature. The wheels lock until you nudge the mower forward just a bit and then they release. It's quiet, fast and low maintenance. I've already recommended this mower to my father.

Being 67 I found trying to start my conventional mower with the pull cord was getting next to impossible so I went looking for a mower that would be easier to start and i didn't want to worry about dragging a cord all over the yard. This mower works great! Push button start and has plenty of power and battery charge to mow my front and back yards easily. I was pleasantly surprised when I accidentally mowed the first time on "mulch" and found it did such a good job, I'm no longer using the bag at all and using mulch mode all the time . It does take a while to get used to the power of the "self-propelled" feature when making turns and learn how to pause that drive while turning but easily mastered. Perfect mower for my needs.

After researching electric lawnmowers I decided I wanted a cordless model. This mower does not disappoint! Very easy to adjust the deck height with just one hand. I am 5'1" and I can easily keep up with this mower on the lowest setting. I haven't needed to go any faster than that. It seems to hold a charge very well. I only have a regular size city corner lot and this mower works perfectly for this size yard. I have not tried bagging my grass and don't know if I will since the mulch feature works so well. I feel really good about my purchase and would recommend this mower to others.

Easy to assemble. I have used this mower twice and I have been able to mow my entire yard without the battery going out. Battery recharges in 24 hours.

This is a great machine if you cannot over exert due to a medical condition. It allows you to take breaks because it needs recharging. This machine is made for a small yard. The self-propelled feature is wonderful but it sucks up most of your power. It is not for people on the go and in a hurry to get the yard done. It's ideal for us retired folks who have time to sit, rest and wait for it to recharge. I'm not exhausted at the end of yard work with this machine as I was with the "pull the string" gas mower. I recommend it for us older folks.
