I bought this mower with the big wheels in the back ,and, small in the front... 1st off it was a great mower. Everything I wanted, but, I used it for one summer like 2 or 3 months then i ran out of the ready start cap (Fuel Stableizer), and, it died . I changed the spark plug this spring also bought a new gas cap with the ready start fuel stuff. It will not start or run at all. if you want to spend 350 dollars for 1 year of use then this is the mower for you. If you know why it wont start let me know thanks.... Also if your self pull stops check in side the plastic box mine filled with grass and pulled the band or belt off the pully so yea :-) Hope this helps
I have bought two of these mowers. I know, I know. Walmart was close and I needed a mower at that very moment. First mower--heavy use on hilly, rocky terrain. Self propell broke. Wheels that provide traction went slick within 6 weeks. Mower too heavy to operate without self propel so gave to neighbor, who had to scrap it 3 weeks later when it "fell apart". Second Mower--Self Propell broke. Wheels went slick within 8 weeks. Height adjustment is iffy. Cannot get it high enough that my strength will overcome the lack of self propel. Don't buy this mower. The Briggs and Stratton engine is great but the self propell is not. The mower is just too heavy to push without the self prople
Works like a dream, powerful engine.Cut apx 3/4 acre in 45 min.You just need to get used to the speed control. Not a complaint just takes a bit of care when controlling the speed.
This mower is to heavy, to hard to handle and the part that the front wheels goes through broke in a months time. I never want another mower like this one.
So I splurge and spend more for the bigger engine. While the engine is great and cuts the grass as expected (I have weird grass that's hard to cut cleanly) and the self propelled feature works good I ran into trouble almost 90% of the way done cutting a 1/2 acre area. I was cutting a little lower than I did on my old cheaper mower because this engine is great and doesn't bog down. I barely nicked a tree root and by barely I mean....barely touched it. I shut the engine off and checked for damage...there was nothing. So I went to restart the mower and hear a loud clunking. At first I thought the self propelled feature was active but it wasn't. That little bump had tilted the blade and now the blade was chewing into the side of the mower housing. Come on really? I remember old mowers that you could run over a truck and have no issues...who has a yard completely free of any obstacle whatsoever? I can't emphasize enough how the blade barely touched the root...I'm surprised that any mower was that flimsy especially a nearly $400 one. Anyway, after going back to exchange the mower the lawn and garden guy looked at it and the blade was fine...the shaft was bent/tilted...nothing to do with hitting the root it was bent from the get go and the blade meeting resistance just pushed it out too far. Anyway, it seems like a great mower if you don't hit anything. I'm pretty surprised that little bump did in a expensive mower that easily or if as the sales guy says, the shaft was bent before the box was opened. At least Walmart gave me and exchange and I didn't get stuck with an unuseable 1 day old mower.
