This handheld game has been both entertaining and fun for my children. I got this game because I know that my children are fans of the show. And much like the show, this game found a way to hold their attention and teach them at the same time. While this handheld game is different than most handhelds due to its lack of graphics, it uses creative thinking to keep kids interested in continuing play. The construction is sturdy, as it has survived a few drops and still works. One negative thing about the game is that the child does need to have some knowledge of world geography before playing the game. If not then this will definitely be too difficult for them. It does help them to learn new things. But it can get frustrating if the child doesn't know and isn't able to catch their target. Overall, I would recommend this game but not for younger kids.

My kids love the tv show Carmen Sandiego and this is definitely a cute, vintage style handheld video game that goes along with that. However the sound is loud, the type is extremely tiny and the game, while informational, is a bit simplistic. So I think my kids have fun with it but I doubt that it will impress kids who are used to high graphic, exciting, action-packed video games. It is nice that the sound can be turned off completely though.

This has really taken me back to my childhood. The set up of that is a lot like the format of the video games I used to play. It's great to have in the car during road trips. It's great to have in the car. Keeps my granddaughter occupied when she is with me. At first it seemed a little hard to figure out but the buttons are big and easy to handle size for a small child. My 13-year-old figured it out very quickly and seem to be kind of bored with it not long after. But it's really nice to see them get some Learn some math reading skills and problem-solving from the game.

I used to play Carmen Sandiego as a kid all the time and loved how it used country trivia and detective work together. When we recently played the Carmen San Diego Board Game (not this game), I was a little disappointed because it barely captured the computer game I remembered from my childhood. BUT this! If memory serves right, is SUPER CLOSE to the original computer game. Old graphics and all. Lol. The buttons even remind me of an old computer we had. Kids today probably won't even realize the on/off button resembles a floppy disk. A little tongue in cheek for those who remember the DOS style computers. To that end though, I played this with my 6 year old daughter. The box recommends 8 and up which is probably pretty accurate since you do need to know country trivia. If your child has an iPad though they can easily look up country flag colors or languages. My daughter surprisingly loved it. I think the original graphics were almost novel. And it was more nostalgic for me. Overall though, my daughter learned some geography, country facts, and how to track clues. I was really happy with this game. Would definitely recommend to anyone who played it as a kid. If you did not play Carmen Sandiego as a kid, there might be a little bit of a learning curve. It also might seem way too simple with poor graphics if you never played it. Having played it as a kid, I absolutely loved it. Great remake! Would definitely recommend.
