Haven’t used it yet but I’m assuming it will work just fine for a temporary fence to keep the doggos from running to the front yard when loose. Giving it 4 stars because it arrived a bit dinged up and bent which I will have to attempt to straighten out :/ I wish it would have came in some kind of packaging, Atleast a box or something, but no, it was just the item itself
The box says "HEX" fence, but that is inaccurate and should be ignored, the fence is truly a mesh fence with 2 x 4 inches openings. That is rather big for chickens so we are not using it for them, but outside of their area and in the back of our property where we have hedges so that this coming winter we can put burlap up to protect them from the winter winds and snows. Last year we just used garden sticks, and they collapsed against the wind and snows, so we were looking for an alternative when this fencing came up. Since the fencing is short, it is also stout and does not have to have T-posts along the line for support. Also, some wire was bent, that does not affect its use and is minor, probably happening during shipping. So far it is has held up well with all the rain and winds we have received so we are expecting this to last a while.
I haven't yet used this welded mesh material but have several ideas for it's use. I will be able to section off part of my lawn area this fall when I'm trying to grow new grass. Or, I can use as fencing at my trailer at a campground to keep the dog close to the trailer. And best of all I'll be using some of this wire mesh on a gate that I built to keep the dogs on the deck area. Many potential uses and with 50 feet, I'll have plenty.
This welded mesh is great for a herb or vegetable garden. I have a problem with rabbits eating my carrots. I put this fencing up, two days ago. Because of it's size, 36" x 50", I was able to put this up by myself. So far I have had no more missing carrots. The openings in between the wire are small enough to keep small critters out. It's also tall enough to keep most animals out and looks great. I have recommended this to some of my friends who have gardens. I will look for some more of this wire for some of my other small gardens. If you are in need of small gardening mesh, you will love this. I highly recommend it for anyone.
I cut off a section of the welded mesh and used it as a fence around my raspberry patch. It was very easy to cut off the required section. Just used pliers that had the wire cutter blade. I use aluminum poles to hold up the mesh/fence. In the fall, after the vegetables are all harvested, I will replace the existing mesh with this new mesh. I see lots of opportunity for the beans and peas to grow up the mesh. Bottom line - easy to work with, does what it is supposed to do with a minimum of aggravation.
