Frigidaire FAX054P7A - Air conditioner - window mounted

I was looking for a room air conditioner that was lighter so that I could handle it easier. I also wanted a unit that was rated high by consumer reviews. This Fridgidare unit works fine. It cools as expected and was easy to install and is definetly light and easy to handle. It is noisier than my older unit however. I wish room air conditioners were rated on their noise levels.

Bought two of these units. They met all of our expectations. We read all the directions and units were very easy to install. Had to cut down the plastic louvers as our windows were only 22" wide. Easily accomplished with a hand saw. The units are very quiet as we used all the foam provided to pad any parts that could possibly vibrate. My son works 3rd shift and uses the fan mode to mask any of the neighborhood noise so he can sleep during the day. We highly recommend these units for value, efficiency.

Works great and is quite. though I don't know why someone would set their A/C to 90 degrees,,,, I like the adjustable digital temp. 60 to 90. The dimensions listed are wrong. the case is 16" wide x 13"deep x 12" tall. gonna have to cut a little to make it fit my camper window Also the running watts are 515. my honda 2000 generator runs it with no problems.

I bought this product due to the fact that my parents are cheap and never put the a/c on. I have a small room and it actually works pretty well. I noticed a weird smell that came from the unit after a while, I think its due to the rain and the motor.. also, when it rains the unit makes a weird noise like its broken but I turn it off and turn it back on once the rain stops and it sounds fine again. It's pretty loud so I turn it to fan mode before I go to bed. It claims its an energy saver but the electric bill says diffrently... Overall it's okay..

I have two other air conditioners made by Frigidaire. They have larger capacities, and I am happy with them as well. The new Figidaire is a 5,000BTU unit, has a digital thermostat. Which by the way is accurate. When it hits temperature, using Energy Saver, it shuts completely down. Then resumes operation, should the temperature increase above the setting. It is very efficient and quiet for it's size. It's installedlled in my computor room (Have several) to help cool them during hot and humid weather. I give give it a 5, on a scale of 1 to 5
