These are very sturdy shelves once they are put together, but putting them together was not easy. As soon as one bar was installed, another would pop off. This happened even after the shelves were fully constructed when we tried--carefully--to move the unit six inches. It's very difficult to reconnect a single bar after the unit is constructed, so it took us a lot of time. That said, I still like these shelves.

I was looking to develop a good utilization of my garage - moving to Florida from Michigan means I had to learn to live without a "basement" so improving my garage utility was important. The Gladiator heavy duty racking is perfect - strong, looks good, and is storing much of my records etc from my prior basement in a better and more visible/accessible form
