Haier 5,000 BTU Manual Air Conditioner

For a cheap, light window AC unit, this fits the bill, but it us LOUD. I liken it to having a DC-3 idling next to me. I use it in a small home office and it brings the room from a stuffy 89 degrees down to a very cool 70 within an hour. It does what it's suppose to. Now to get the noise canceling headset...

For me it was a very good purchase. I use it basically at night, a few weeks in summer. It is not a refrigerator, but if you only want refresh your room and sleep very well with out pay much money, this is a good option. Maybe it's a little noisy, but that's great for me, because that lulls to sleep me!!!

I bought my first Haier 5000 BTU AC 6 years ago for an enclosed porch. It's still going strong. Because of the first one's dependability and excellent cooling today I bought another like it with the exception that the air flow comes out the top. Since this is for the bedroom I felt it won't blow directly on me at night. If it's a little noisy I don't care because it distracts from noisy neighbors! To me much better than other brands offered. You can always get a bad unit of anything you purchase but at Wal Mart it's not a problem to exchange.

I purchased this item to use in a very small travel trailer (19'). It only cools about 40 sq. ft. (the size of a queen size bed). That was when the weather was in the 80s. I hate to think how hot the space will be when the temps get to the triple digits!

I bought this air conditioner for a guest room in my bed & breakfast. It is quiet and does a nice job cooling the room. Installation was pretty easy. If you need a basic room air conditioner and your room is on the small side, this is a very good value for the money.
