Haier HWR05XC7 - Air conditioner - window mounted - white

First off, I have an issue with other reviewers stating how loud this unit is. I have been around hundreds of different window air conditioners over the years and this one is one of quietest I have ever encountered. It is the nature of the beast that window air conditioners are going to make noise, but this one is not one of the roaring, deafening types. The unit was purchased this year when my much larger window air conditioner failed. The previous unit was rated at almost three times the BTUs. This unit better fit what my budget would allow for a replacement at the time. Clearly, I wasn't expecting the cooling punch of the much larger unit it replaced. But it has exceeded my expectations for such a small unit. Even on the days when the outside temperature got in the 90s this summer, the unit kept the 14 x 16 foot living room at 71 degrees or lower. This while always leaving the door open to an adjoining 16 x 20 foot room. That adjoining room had no other direct or indirect cooling source, but also received significant cooling spillover. While it didn't stay as comfy as the living room, this adjoining room would stay at around 80 degrees on the really hot days, which is certainly a big improvement over a couple of non air-conditioned rooms in another part of my residence. All the functions on the unit are set up well and the remote control and electronic readouts are a snap to use. I am so pleased with this unit that my intention is to purchase another one just like it for another part of my residence next spring. The owner's manual could be improved when it comes to the installation section. This section is not very clear and leaves certain parts of the installation procedure in the fuzzy grey area. These things can be figured out by making a trial and error step or two, but improvements could definitely be made in the narrative and pictorals. A very happy user of this fine little air conditioner. It delivers a nice punch in a small package for those looking for value.

I'VE ONLY HAD IT FOR TWO DAYS AND I ALREADY TOLD MY BOYFRIEND TO TAKE IT OUT OF THE WINDOW AND TO PUT IT RIGHT BACK IN THE BOX. I WISH I HAD READ THE REVIEWS BEFORE PURCHASING IT. IT RATTLES & MAKES TOO MUCH NOISE. I CANT IMAGINE WHAT IT WOULD SOUND LIKE AFTER USING IT FOR A LONGER PERIOD..IM BRINGING MINE BACK!!

Product was as advertised. Quite a bargain for a small compact window A/C unit and even came with a remote control. Cools small bedroom nicely. Only issue is the exhaust fan sometimes hits the housing making a slight noise that seems to go away after a few minutes of use.

I like the air conditioner alot however, the fact that it has a cheap remote and doesn't allow control beyond on/off on the actual air conditioner is a great disappointment for me. WHen this cheaply made remote breaks for real (I have had to put a rubber band on it to keep it together and just got it like 3 weeks ago) I will only have on/off functionality control.

I don't need to get out of bed in the middle of the night to turn the air down. Just pull the remote out from under the pillow, point, shoot, and go back to sleep. Love it! Also I can set the air to turn on just before I get home from work. Nice and cool when I walk in the door and lower electric bills because the air wasn't running all day.
