Normally I use a French press. But my husband is impatient for coffee first thing in the morning and this is a great coffee maker for getting him a big 16 oz mug of hot java super fast since I can't stand the waste and expense associated with k-cups. And I think this makes better tasting coffee than most of the coffee makers out there, including k-cups. It's right on par with using a French press. Plus it makes pretty tasty cold brew as well. Two things keep it from five star. It's not as beautiful as I would like so I won't keep it on the kitchen counter. (Though it is pretty light pulling it out of the cabinet.) And making a second cup immediately is kind of a pain because there is no way to get an additional insert. Which means you have to wait for one brewing to finish and then wash out the filter insert in between your batches. But it's pretty fantastic for one brewing, especially if you do your prep work the night before and just have to push the button when you get up.

Pour water in from the 16 oz cup. I had to restart it 4 times for it to fill. Or it shuts off after a few seconds for a 12oz cup and then restart 3 more times. It should be on then manually turn it off. No fancy timer to guess how much water u might or might not have. On /off. Nothing smart. this thing gets so hot it spews out steam then shuts down. Dumb! It doesn't help to unplug for awhile to reset it. But it sure worked perfect for the first few days. When it steamed it cleaned out all the white hard water deposits into the coffee filter. I must have the only lemon.

This coffee maker is smaller than a traditional coffeemaker and is designed for single servings and makes up to 16 oz of coffee in one brew cycle. This is a great option for those of us who don't need a full pot of coffee. The coffeemaker is a little more complicated to use than others I have used in the past, but it isn't something that keeps me from enjoying the machine. To use this coffee maker you first fill up the reservoir with water in the back. The brew basket is located in a small silver compartment, and you add your coffee grounds in here. Then you replace the lid and twist it, and this is the hardest part for me because you have to line up the notches just right on the cup or it will not fit back in the whole coffee machine. Sometimes it takes a few tries and it can be an inconvenience in the mornings and I wish this feature was changed but it's not bad enough to make me stop using this. Another amazing perk about this coffeemaker is that it uses a traditional brew basket with regular coffee grounds instead of specialty type pods so it makes using this machine a breeze and much more affordable than other options on the market. The hot coffee function is the one that gets used most often in my house, and it brews in just a few short minutes. Overall I really do enjoy this coffeemaker and in pleased to own it. I would recommend this product.

I like that it also brews hot coffee in 3 minutes. It uses ground coffee which is great because you don't have to buy the coffee pods. It's great that you can choose from regular or bold strength as well. I like that you can brew up to 16 ounces in a travel mug for on the go. Overall for the convenience it makes a nice cold brew at home.
