This is a great unit if you drive, non-truck driver, but want to be able to communicate with truckers for traffic avoidance/info. Heck its just fun listening, uh, when someone talks. They don't talk like the old days, oh well. With a 4-5' fiberglass antenna this little unit works well. It transmits & receives much further than I expected, over flat terrain that is.

I was initially disappointed when I unpacked the CB radio because it didn't look like the photo in the ad. Then I was pleasantly surprised to find out it's really two radios for the price of one! When the CB is configured for use in a vehicle, it is very compact and looks like the picture in the ad. By adding the flexible antennae and the supplied battery pack, it converts to a hand-held configuration. For vehicle use, make sure you purchase a magnetic antennae for increased range. The controls are easy to learn and the weather channels can be a lifesaver. Buy two, because they're more powerful than cheap "walkie-talkies". All in all, a great value for the money.
