let me first start off by saying, that there is a common misconception about the difference between a regular old power strip, and a surge protector. this is a surge protector, and prevents from electrical damage. both often get confused for being a protective device, which they are not. i can't tell you how many times i have had to remind my elders that a dinky little power strip is not in fact "lightning proof", and is solely meant for extending the number of outlets you have, and will not in any way protect you from all of the above. you need the proper equipment to protect your life, basically.. The Monster Power Center Vertex XL: 5000J Surge Protector, has 10 protected outlets, and a detachable hub that will charge all of your usb devices fast and secure. which means you no longer have to worry about brown outs, lightning storms, frantically running across the house every time you hear thunder just to try and save your beloved computer! or your gaming systems, then just..kind of sit in the dark and wait for it to pass for hours on end, while everyones battery dies lol bc my xbox 360 elite is my precious, and not meant for this new world of overpowered house outlets that shall never be trusted. no more constantly replacing my roku stick, my beloved playstation, my tv box, and my tv...storms really do hate me. there is a state in the south lovingly deemed "the bipolar state" and "Misery" for a very good reason. the weather here can go from 80f to 25f in a 24 hour period all year round, and usually is accompanied by multiple tornadoes! ..then a snow storm, followed by an ice storm, regular 30-60mph wind gusts if the temperature changes too fast after dark, week long bouts of steady thunderstorms!, and oh, the lighting! its like a lightshow. yes, i live in tornado alley. i have lost arm fulls of electronic devices in the past, not something i cope with very well! i desperately needed a GOOD surge protector, not just a dinky little power strip that actually made things worse, and then it melted.. this thing is amazing!! i love all the outlets which means i can protect every game system i have, my computer and my Sims are safer. i cant really think of any complaints tbh, i made sure to test this for a full month before writing this, and any final thoughts. i just cant afford to keep replacing all my stuff. the monster power vertex XL really saves someone like me, a pc gamer who also switches between gaming systems multiple times daily, and has weird emotional attachments to the game systems ive had for 15+ years that i grew up with, and still enjoy playing! i dont have to unplug, re-plug, reach, struggle, then accidentally unplug everything else in the process in complete darkness most of the time. its all right there, and everything has a spot now, bc 10 outlets its all anyone really needs. ive just had enough of this weather business and im very thankful i now have something that actually works for me, and works very well. the stress a simple surge protector can prevent is well worth it for me! you need to plug your internet router into this, your home phone, your tv, your cable box, any type of player you can't afford to replace needs to be plugged into a protective device. bc it only takes one good power surge or lightning strike, to blow a breaker AND fry every motherboard in your house. just bc its plugged directly into the source, with no protective barrier to stop that sudden jolt of electricity. most of the time? i didnt even notice it until the system just wouldn't turn on again. then im left with the very frequent emotion "why does everything i touch die!?!".. it has already saved me so much money i do not have. my feelings are all my own, and are my real and honest experience with using this product thoroughly, and steadily for the past month. you need a good surge protector, especially if you have as much as i have collected over my entire life, that i would prefer to keep in working condition. as a gamer, a techy, i will give you a very important key life note.. Never plug anything directly into a wall socket, that you arent willing to loose, and abruptly part with forever! very good quality, and a necessity.

I absolutely love this!!! It's soooo frustrating finding certain outlets for different devices. This power hub is perfect and very convenient. I don't have to worry about my phone or other expensive devices being ruined because it has a surge protector.

This power cord is and looks super sharp. It has the normal surge protection, the on/off button, nicely spaced out power outlets. However it goes much further. It has a separate section with 2 USB and 1 C-type plug, which can be separated from the main power strip and moved to a different location. It is really great for my desk so I can charge my phone without having the entire bulky strip on my desk. The USB section has a built in magnet and there is a metal plate included in the package that matches its shape. I have not had a need for it but you can use it to “mount” the USB section where you want it. Overall this is the best power strip I have ever owed. The colors look sharp, the design is very clever, and the quality is outstanding.

Monster Vertex surge protector is a great product if you are looking to protect your appliances, computer and electronics. It is a necessity. I was looking for a multi plug surge protector that could also let me know ‘visually' that my electronics were protected and grounded. It has two indicator lights, a grounded and protection indicator light. This surge protector is a bit large in size and has 6 plugs as well as three USB charging ports (2 USB-A, 1 USB-C port). The 4 feet detachable USB hub is great. It gives me the flexibility to have the surge protector on the floor while I charge my phone on my desk. The only thing that I do not like about this surge protector is that the plugs do not rotate at the head to help plug it in at any angle. The design is fairly modern, clean, and seems like it will last for quite some time. I definitely recommend this product especially if you have a lot of expensive equipment that you need protected. This is really sturdy and works as promised.

The Monster Power Center Vertex XL: 5000J Surge Protector, 10 AC Protected Outlets, & Detachable Magnetic Hub with 2 USB-A Ports & 1 USB-C Port is what any household needs. This is a must have for a much needed update to my power strip that I use. There is one issue and it is minor. I had a hard time getting it to stay on my wall. It would be great if it had nail hooks to make it easier to hang. I love that it has a surge protector. It makes me feel safe for my electronics that are hooked to it.  This has a USB hub mount which is great. I love this cool feature. If your in the market for a new surge protector this is a much needed consideration.
