NewAir - Frigidaire 2-in-1 Evaporative Air Cooler and Fan, 450 sq.ft. with 3 Fan Speeds and Large Detachable 13 Gallon Water Tank - White

I was excited to receive this unit. I had another brand previously that literally died within 30 days. Limit cooling expectations based on where you live. It should not be your only cooling source in most areas. I do have other fans in the house but this unit helps drop the temp down in my bedroom which is why I bought it for the summer. I found that the inside humidity isn't raised as high as I thought it would. I wanted to love this unit and had hoped to use it year round, but sadly I will be returning it after 2.5 months of use. I thought it would be a workhorse type unit, but it requires too much attention and upkeep for daily use. Pros: 1. Large Water tank. Only had to refill 1 time a day if used 24/7. 2. Easy digital controls. 3. Comes with a remote. 4. 3 Fan speeds. 5. Unit looks sleek and futuristic. Wish it came in Black. 6. The honeycomb filter is large and sturdy. 7. Great customer service from New Air. 8. Fast shipping and the unit arrived intact and handled with care. Cons: 1. Considering the tank size and size of the unit, the airflow should be much stronger. 2. Requires too much maintenance. I had to dump the tank and clean the unit once a week. We have hard water here and it would get a build up of bacteria within 3-4 days of continuous use. 3. Cleaning the unit is cumbersome. Its a heavy unit and doing this weekly was inconvenient. I was only able to clean the tank and the top part of the unit. Its next to impossible to clean the inside of the unit without taking it apart which I wasnt going to do and you shouldnt have to. I think they should make the inner compartment more accessible so cleaning can be thorough. 4. I noticed the pumps housing cover has a tiny crack in it. Im convinced I was sent a refurbished unit because of the crack, the quick bacteria build up, and also the inner screen that protects the front of the fan motor has wires that are bent and theres no way that can happen unless it was taken apart before. 5. I feel like the pump is just too small for this large unit and as a result the unit underperforms. 6. You have to turn off the evaporator 1-2 times a day and let the honeycomb filter dry out or it begins to spit out droplets of water if the honeycomb gets too wet. 7. The unit is far too heavy. It seems too fragile to be so bulky. I expected much higher mechanical quality with a $300 price tag. 8. The airway opening is too small. The pictures make it seem like the entire front was an opening but only 1/3 of it is. Its very misleading considering it was a big factor for me getting it. 9. The wheels are too small and plastic. 1 of them just broke this week. Theyre not made to sustain the weight of the unit as its very heavy when filled with water. I just dont know why manufacturers cant get evaporative coolers right. Its simple technology. Better brands out there, but theyre either not modern looking, have limited functionality or the water tanks too small.

We have a house with large South Facing windows in the hot Colorado Sun. SO no matter how hard our Central Air works, our house would still always have hot spots. Introducing the NewAir evaporative cooler was a perfect fix. We can move it to whatever room we are in and in minutes the room is noticeably cooler. The three fan speeds are great and the unit also has an oscillating fan option which is great for larger rooms. Overall the unit is fantastic and we have enjoyed it very much on these hot 100 degree days. The customer service is also awesome.

We have had this cooler for a year now and it has delivered! We are artists in a garage studio and we use this to cool our area when working. It cools off quickly and is very comfortable as we work. I really like the fact that it it has various fan speeds so depending on the heat of the day we can adjust. We just fill with water and roll it where we are working and instant cooling air is delivered. It also has a handy remote so it I am in the the middle of a project it is easy to adjust across the room. One feature we really enjoy is the timer function, so that if we leave the room and decide not to return, then the cooler will cut off automatically. I would recommend this to anyone that lives in a dry environment!

Came on time, looked great. BUT. Did not cool the air any better than my $20 oscillating fan. So returned it to local walmart. Walmart did there job very well. Not so much luck with the cooler.

I got this item about a week ago. And I live in north idaho, pretty dry climate so I figured it might work good. I plugged it in and filled it up and within a matter of 20 min or so my room temp went down to 68, I even had to cover my self up which made me even more shocked! My only con to this product is that the remote was not operating when I got it, however customer service was wonderful and sent me a new one free of charge! Over all if your in a low humidity or dry climate, this works wonders. Especially if you can't plug in an AC unit cause it will pop the breaker.
