Purchased a few weeks ago. Had issue with slow studdering mouse in energy saving mode. Moved to Normal / std mode. After a few adjustments, I have less of this issue. I have a Sager Clevo P9170 and according to PassMark Performance test, this unit is better. Battery life is ~ 2 hrs +/- 0.5 hrs. I've installed a WD Black PCIE M.2 3400 | 2500 MB/s RW that only consumes 0.0025 w in idle
Nice laptop, good specs but I can't deal with this keyboard or the speakers. Keyboard feels really cheap and acts like I didn't hit the keys when in know I did, never had this issue with any laptop I've ever owned. The speakers are bad too, pathetic sound. Would like to return but one week out the return window.
Bought this laptop a week ago and I am very much impressed with its price for the features they are providing. Performance wise it is buttery smooth although, I am using this mostly for work and education. It is also not heavy as one would expect for a 17 inch laptop. HD display is really good. Mechanical keys are really fun to use along with customizable RBG backlight on it. The only concern is the battery which I am ok for now since I am not using it for gaming. Typically, it is giving me an hour and a half on battery mode for office work. The charging cable is little bulky and heavy and I am fine with that too. I wish Overpowered release steps into the workstation manufacturing with the same type business model.
New brand, unknown past...I understand the concern. Build quality higher than I expected, and the chassis seems to have a following under its other names. I didn't buy this for battery life, as I have other laptops for that. I bought it for its performance. Screen is good, speakers weaker than ideal. Keyboard is good, didn't run into the AC adapter issues some ahve reported. The software to manage the lighting is pretty crappy. Support website is terrible, as any driver is a 10GB download. I realize a lot of that sounds negative, but for the money, it's a fantastic midrange enthusiast gaming laptop. Ample horsepower for 1080p gaming, virtualization, entertainment in general. It stays nice and cool, and I've yet to see any throttling, unlike many other laptops in this class. It's a laptop I planned on wiping within an hour of receiving, and I don't plan on using Walmart for support of issues outside of any hardware failure, which this has 2 years of warranty against (unlike the competition's typical 1 year). I could have paid 50% more to upgrade to something with a 1070 but just 16GB RAM, but this was the perfect configuration for me.
I got this on the rollback price of $999 with some other things tossed in. You will be hard pressed to find this hardware anywhere at that price. The gpu alone is a $250. The mobo is the same as many high end gaming pc's as well as all the components. If you can build/find a better deal then this then let me know. This sold out quickly for good reason.
