The costs have changed quite a bit but barley like everything has gone up . It has great texture and flavor. Would highly recommend it for those very important reasons. Packaging could use a face lift though to draw your attention to the product and make it stand out.

Uh, Ohh. Another product I depend on is UP in PRICE. No doubt, due to the Ukraines' struggle with Russia. My dog started having seizures, so I decided to try feeding her home prepared food. I'm not sure if that change alone helped her, but man, is she ever spoiled stinking rotten!! She LOVES Barley as her main grain. It's easily digestable compared to brown rice hulls. I love it too! If you're not really familiar with barley, here's a few tips on what I have learned along the way. I grew up on a few dishes that my mom made from it. Quaker was the only game in town back then. I still trust Quaker for this and whole oats. Mom made barley soup with ground chuck. I make it too now but a much more "kicked up" version. I eat it as a cereal akin to oatmeal when I have cooked more than I need for my dog. (Picture us eating out of our respective dishes side by side, lol, jk.) It also freezes well. Just toss with oil to keep grains from sticking together before freezing. It's sticky when overcooked, so I tend to slightly undercook it. There's additional cooking later, so undercooking is not a big deal. I think that it is still a decent enough price for the versatility, nutritional value, and fast convenience from a trusted brand I know. It's virtually flavorless, accepting any herbs, spices, or veges and proteins, sweet or savory, that you add. Play with it. Rice DOES get boring and takes 50 minutes! Barley has better nutritional value anyway. Butter, agave or palm sugar, Ceylon cinnamon, a dash of cardamom

The Quaker Quick Pearled Barley is a quality product. It is has been removed of it's hulls and polished before being steamed and rolled so these cook in a fraction of the time it takes to cook regular barely making it easy. These are great in soups or asba grain to accompany your entree.
